A bill aimed at resetting immigration negotiations in the Senate is running into early backlash from President Trump.
The bill from Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Christopher Coons (D-Del.), introduced on Monday, pairs a path to citizenship for “dreamers” with border security measures — but does not include funding for a U.S.-Mexico border wall.
The two senators believe their bill could be a base for negotiators among a wider group of senators, but Trump took a shot at the measure before it was even formally introduced.
The president said it was a non-starter to offer a fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects many immigrants who entered the United States illegally as children, without funding for the wall.
“Any deal on DACA that does not include STRONG border security and the desperately needed WALL is a total waste of time,” he wrote in a tweet. “March 5th is rapidly approaching and the Dems seem not to care about DACA. Make a deal!”

Just like every Senator, everything they write is done by aides. McCain's output is done by them. McCain could be comatose and on a dozen IVs, but as long as an aide could be there to push his finger on the AYE/NO button in the Senate chamber for him, all is good as far as the Senate rules are concerned.

John McCain is a treasonous democrat who is hiding something big. Some say it has something to do with being aligned with the Bill & Hillary/Podesta human trafficking world. Whatcha hiding McCain?

McCain went to Arizona in December and is still there, no one has seen him, just statements being issued in his name.
I think the Dems are hoping that is what he does because they think they can make “Heartstring Hay” of it. It is set to expire and both Trump and Sessions indicated that w/o a deal to fix the situation by the Congress, the law would start to be applied.
Agreed. McCain caused me and my family a great hardship. It is difficult for me to not be angry.
How can McCain submit a bill from AZ?
If he isn’t in DC to submit it, the bill is invalid.
