This story is amusing, but also significant. This was her epiphany. She heard the brass gong being struck by reality.
This lady openly admits this one moment of kindness by the man has caused her to rethink her manner of resistance.

I live in a fairly leftist environment and so deal with them on a daily basis. I encounter many who are exactly like this. They could be pitiable but I’m too busy laughing at their silly temper tantrums.
