WASHINGTON — Speaker Paul D. Ryan faced a backlash on Saturday after he pointed to a secretary’s $1.50 weekly increase in take-home pay as a sign of the Republican tax plan’s success.
“A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week ... she said [that] will more than cover her Costco membership for the year,” Mr. Ryan posted on Twitter, sharing an Associated Press report about paycheck increases under the $1.5 trillion tax overhaul.
The article describes a high school secretary, Julia Ketchum, as “pleasantly surprised” that her pay went up $1.50 a week, or $78 a year, more than enough to cover an annual Costco membership. Mr. Ryan deleted the Twitter post in hours, however, after lawmakers and social media users criticized him for appearing out of touch.
“That tweet about the $1.50 a week is not a PR mistake,” Senator Brian Schatz, Democrat of Hawaii, wrote on Twitter. “It's really what they think.”

If true, suggests that Lyin’ Ryan is just as tone deaf as Pelosi.
$1.50 a week increase is many times more of an increase than anybody would see under Hillary!
They need to tell the truth. I received a raise and the tax cut but my pay check went up $20. The reason for such a small increase in my net is that fact my health insurance went up $1,500/yr.

Paul Ryan, when you need to wrestle defeat from the jaws of victory.
But hardly what the President promised the tax cuts would do. He said taxes would go down by $2000 on average and salaries would go up by $4000 on average. This missed that mark by a considerable amount.
Paul Ryan is a snake. This tweet was sarcasm.
I also received a negligible increase in take home pay, due to increasingly costs of health insurance deducted from my paycheck.
I absolutely hate the New York Times. They are on this story like white on rice, but Obama’s $2,500 Obamacare savings couldn’t be bothered with.

Those are probably the mean numbers.
This is what a wimp who has lived his entire adult life in the D.C. cucoon will come up with. You can’t just visit soup kitchen and go around shaking hands to “get it”. You have to actually spend your days living in the real world. That way you won’t tweet that the tax cuts were so good you get a free Costco membership out of it.
Nothing wrong with the story or the tax cut. Everyone needs to grow a pair, including Ryan. She got a small reduction in her withholding and probably more benefits on her tax return.
Not only made Ryan look dumb, Biden made him look scared.
Now tell me something new.
