Flake: There Was No Justification for Comey Firing, There Should Be ‘No Firing of Anybody Else’
Breitbart Video ^ | 1-30-2018 | Pam Key

Tuesday following President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) said there was no justification for the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, and he would consider legislation, so there is “no firing of anybody else.”

Partial transcript as follows:

WILLIAMS: Our mutual friend Chris Matthews has this theory that what we’re watching is a slow motion Saturday Night Massacre, that first there was Comey, then there was McCabe, and now Mr. Rosenstein appears to be squarely in the sights. Who in your party is prepared to stop that if Chris’ theory is correct?

FLAKE: Well, I know a number of us are concerned, obviously. I don’t think there was justification for the timing, certainly, of the Comey firing, and I think the president has recognized the fallacy of that move given it got him this investigation going on right now with the special counsel. So I sure hope that there is going to be no firing of anybody else, and in terms of legislation, if there is a piece of legislation that is constitutional, that would ensure that he doesn’t fire the deputy attorney general or somebody else, then I would consider it, but I haven’t seen that legislation yet.

Then they went on to discuss making sure Mueller (and Mueller investigation) as "Trump-proof".

Thank goodness, Flake is/was thinking of running for a higher office. He is unfit for his current one.

There didn't have to be ANY justification to let Comey go. He served at the pleasure of the President.

The Dems would probably fired him on Day 1.

The only legislation that can “protect” an employee of the Executive Branch is an Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Well, I could certainly accept arrests in place of firings.

And the fact that Flake doesn’t know that after how many years in congress, says all we need to know about him.

So Flake admits, finally, that he wipes his butt with the Constitution, and the current President is not allowed to do what every previous Predident has been able to do. He should be sanctioned/censured by the Senate.

Hey, Flake... remember how you wagged your finger in the president's face and lectured him on separation of powers? Well, the firing of federal agency heads is his job, not the job of some sniveling, lazy miscreant from the legislature. Perhaps you could spend the rest of your term in office actually DOING something, rather than making ridiculous speeches on the senate floor and lecturing others on how to do their job.

A McCain, by any name, smells of RINO.

This guy is channeling McCain. You’d think he was a democrat.

So this dink is suggesting that they should try to place a bill on the President’s desk that would make employees of the executive branch immune from termination.

That will work.

A reprilian swamp creature does not want the swamp drained? I mean he is bailing from the swamp, the water will be too clean for him.

One would think that a member of Congress knows how laws are made. No president would ever sign such legislation limiting their power. Flake is a dullard.

"Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) said there was no justification for the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, and he would consider legislation, so there is “no firing of anybody else."

One more firing needs to happen. It will be a certain Senator in November 2018 by the citizens of Arizona. He's probably trying to come up with legislation to prevent that right now...

I think Trump was too kind to McCabe. I would have fired him and make him take me to court over his pension.

Barbara Boxer has said that Hillary would’ve been justified in firing Comey.

Screw the partisan hacks of the RINO-RAT government.

Since he seems not to have any idea of what is in the Constitution, how did this guy get elected in the first place??
