And that county is & in what state?

I don’t mind doing the search if you just fill in those 2 bits of information :)

Really? It would be easy to ignore you and your ilk but you are annoying, harmful and wrong. Perhaps you should outline your response when you hear about the death of a 19 year old opioid addict. Do you say gee how tragic, we should spend more on rehab programs and stop stigmatizing such behavior? Perhaps you may acknowledge the pain and suffering of his family but in the end feel that the choice was his to make and society is better off without such a person of poor judgement. But what you and your ilk won’t do is really analyze the situation. You might find that at 15 this person was a decent youngster with the potential of youth. You might find that he for a variety of reasons “chose” to indulge in the gateway drug of marijuana and finally met his end. Well it was his choice and his fate, So it goes. Go to his wake and raise a glass to his memory. Then return to your rathole.

Odd how cannabis is blamed for this & that but the person who abuses cannabis or any other medication isn’t actually responsible for their behavior when they suffer the consequences for their poor choices.

Too much of anything is bad for us & we alone are responsible for our actions & choices. Those who come from families with histories of addiction problems should not use ANY mood altering substances unless supervised by a physician.

If the 15 yr old in your scenario started using cannabis where in the hell where the parents? I’ve raised kids & find it incredible that parents seemingly stay unaware of what their children are doing & who they are doing it with.

No teenager should be using cannabis unless they have a specific ailment (seizures for example) that does not respond to pharma meds under the supervision of their doctor & their parents, IMO.

Two different things - being american is about having freedom to choose and live according to your choices - so there shouldn’t be restrictions on lots of personal choice things like to take drug or not. Culture is about fitting in or wanting easy solutions, popular fads etc and when something becomes a problem blame those who started the trend or make money off the trend because the trend has led to “unforeseen” problem in some or many people/reltionships. etc

Personally I think this whole THC free/medical marijuana situation is exploding into a huge problem, but people should be free to choose. I am totally against abortion, but when it comes down to it, God gives us free choice in all matters.

The more we say this or that is illegal the more “rebels” - the young or the aged “young” will seek it out. They need the freedom to choose and live out the consequences. Parents need to lay good foundation for kids, train up a child...

Yeah, I predict I never get an answer. :)

It’s my experience here at FR that is someone makes a statement of fact & you ask for a link to validate the folks who are being honest are happy to either provide a link or tell you where you can find the information.

Those who offer up their own opinion’s as fact usually aren’t very forthcoming when you ask for validating info. They tend to make excuses & some will pitch a fit lol.

I believe you. I've seen it personally with a family member dying of pancreatic cancer using marijuana to help her chemo symptoms. She was able to eat, keep food down and despite being given three months to live when she was diagnosed, lived a year and a half.

Were it not for the marijuana helping with the effects of the chemo and getting her to eat, her very young children wouldn't have had their mother as long as they did.

When you see what marijuana actually does for people who are very sick, and experience some of the benefits of it yourself, your opinion changes dramatically - as did mine.

Amen & Amen!

I took dozens of prescribed medicines for 20+ years for depression & anxiety that never worked as advertised. Thanks be to God in Heaven a friend I work with suggested I look into medical cannabis. After a lot of research & many discussions with the wife we decided the worst that could happen was nothing.

It will be 3 years next month I started using cannabis. I’m very happy & enjoying life again. I’ve lost 81 pounds of flab & have the energy now to walk 2-4 miles a day when weather allows.

For some bizarre reason, this upsets prohibitionists who are so happy to tell me cannabis isn’t medicinal lol!

“Pot is fraudulently “prescribed” about 90% of the time.” Got a link to validate this assertion? Or is this just your opinion being used as “fact”?

They say that 82% of statistics are made up on the spot. Given that 91% of statistics are invented without evidence, we should not worry about whether there is a link to support that claim. I suggest forming an opinion based on personal experience.

We know that medical mj works for glaucoma, for loss of appetite with chemotherapy, and for several other conditions that are uncommon except in terminal cancer patients. We also know that a lot of enthusiastic supporters of medical mj have no real medical problems but they know a doctor who is eager to prescribe upon request. My conclusion? He's about right, even though 77% of statistics are made up on the spot.

My friend that used it wanted more regulation. It was hard for her to consistently get good CBD oil. One time she got some that made her stoned.

I think it should be sold like other medications in a pharmacy.

the gateway drug of marijuana

The same analysis that points to marijuana as a gateway also implicates alcohol and tobacco. All three are best avoided IMO - particularly for youths - but none should be banned ... or else all three should.

Thanks.

I’ll put a call into Miss Romann later. Looking forward to asking her about your claim.

The number for the Douglas County coroner is: (303) 814-7150 for anyone else who’s interested.
