I hear you. I can’t be away from mountains or ocean. That being said, the beaches in Florida are beautiful. The seafood is wonderful.
I don’t think that I could live there, but I do love to visit.
You decide what toppings you want. The sub buns are usually just hours old. I always get the Publix Ultimate Whole sub with sliced turkey, sliced beef, and sliced ham topped with spicy mustard, spinach leaves, swiss cheese,jalapeno peppers, pickles, tomatoes, and a splash of Bean-O sub dressing. Around $6.50. Yummers.
I preferred Molly Hatchet...now that was a good Florida band.

Nearly all of my retired relatives from Michigan live in Florida and for the most part they love it. And we love going down there and visiting them.

Hahaha! I’m a Floridian transplanted from Michigan. Was up there last year for the first time in years. The roads are so bad I was afraid my rental car would come apart. Weather was nice in July, though.
“Best sub” from a chain grocery or national sub chain but it’s no comparison to a sub from a Brooklyn deli or Pork store.
There are some really bad things about Florida and some really bad things. If you can separate the two it’s a pretty good place to live.
The worst areas are the ones infested with Democrats, but even there you can find some small islands of civility.

I lived in Rat Central, Broward County.
I'm happy with my little paradise here in Mary Esther. Not too big, but close enough to the mid-sized cities to get what I need.
