Meghan is back to her old self.
She’s getting pretty long in the tooth to speak for “young Republicans.”

A lot of these kids are just following ‘fashion’ - it’s something that everyone does as adolescents, though the fashions and issues are different for every generation. That doesn’t mean that it goes very deep, or that it’s going to stick for very long.
Media are trying to suggest that all of this is bigger and more widespread than it really is. If you buy into it and believe it, then they’ve accomplished their mission.
LGBTQ are sinners just like we all are. They are a bit dumber than most because one has to be dumb to think some such thing like “I’d rather than change the way I think about my gender I would rather spend thousands of dollars and go through unnecessary procedures so I can pretend to be a gender I am not”. The same goes for homosexuality. These people are broken, insane, and just not very smart. I don’t care as much about that but I do care that they demand that the world of normals cater to their fucked up world view or else.
Meghan may be as detached from reality as many other media people. Most young Republicans who don’t live in the DC bubble probably ARE evangelicals.

That kind of a response would get an automatic front door lock change in this house. Already happened on a different topic.
One should cut Meghan some slack do to the situation she was born into. Her father is a traitor who made propaganda broadcasts for the North Vietnamese to get special treatment and medical care when he was a POW.
When he got home after the war, he divorced his wife who stood by him while he was a POW and married a rich junkie who stole her drugs from a charity instead of spending her inherited fortune on her dope. She stole her drugs from the charity she founded, The American Voluntary Medical Team, a relief organization whose purpose was to aid Third World countries. Her husband used his political power to get her off for her crimes.
John McCain was a member of the Keating Five, the sleazy group who sold political favors for campaign contributions. He also attacked the wives and families of POWs left behind in Vietnamese prisons after the war.

i have listened to a couple sermons from a seasoned preacher in a particular protestant denomination
his denomination has certain distinctives that many other denominations do not subscribe to
but his denom also has always included a quite clear Biblical morals component in its teachings, preaching.
and this pastor was explaining how many new pastors no longer do this, preferring to avoid preaching about morals ......or any other Biblical “legal” type (and I know that is a perjorative in many people’s view) but anyway, the Bible does contain much of great value and which was traditionally taught and preached frequently
but now many of the younger pastors are just teaching a “cheap salvation” message and moving on to entertainment instead
similar (including some directly anti-Biblical messages) can now be heard from many Catholic Protestant and Jewish pulpits
I do not subscribe to the notion that every sermon has to be HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE. Indeed, I don;t particularly care for that style.
But, the Biblical message should not be radically watered down, or thrown out.
It can be taught in a modern style. fine. But it still needs to be taught, imho.

but i also need to object occasionally at least, when she shoots her mouth off in the political arena, if only to try to counter her crazy ideas lest they take root and maybe hurt us more than her daddy has

I wonder if she realizes that younger Conservatives are just as against the spread of this LGBTQ crap as older Conservatives are?
I know a lot from our church too. A lot of kids I’ve known since they wereally little.
I heard my kids talking about 1 of the friends and they finally think she’s crazy. She sleeps around a ton a posts the details on facebook.
I’m hoping as they get older they will get wiser.
