West Is Waging 'Economic War' on Russia to Topple Kremlin — Bank CEO
The Moscow Times ^ | Jan 24, 2018

Russian businessmen are bracing for the release of a list of Kremlin-linked “oligarchs” by the U.S. Treasury Department next Monday, Jan. 29.

“I think they want to put a lot of pressure on Russia with the help of sanctions so that Russia changes its government and its president to someone more suitable for them,” the state-run RIA Novosti news agency cited VTB chief Andrei Kostin as saying Wednesday.

Despite Moscow’s official line that western sanctions have a limited impact on the Russian economy, Kostin described western sanctions as a “full-scale attack on Russia, on Russian society.”

“This is a very big economic war. And I’m serious, we’ll also take it very seriously.”

Russia's economy was tanking even before the sanctions. But the sanctions directly challenge the oligarchs, who have upwards of a trillion dollars stored in Western banks.

Russia is being attacked by neocons and globalists for being a white nation with leaders who are not self-hating.

How Islam Will Change Russia By: Marlene Laruelle September 13, 2016 08:55 PM Age: 1 year Russia is becoming increasingly a Muslim country. Out of a total population of over 146 million (including two million in annexed Crimea), it counts about 15 million people of Muslim background—even if not all are believers and even fewer practice Islam. Given forthcoming demographic changes, by around 2050 Muslims will represent between one third (according to the most conservative estimates) and one half (according to the most ‘alarmist’ assessments) of the Russian population. This ‘Islamization’ of Russia—not in the sense of radical Islam but of a rising number of citizens self-referring to Islam—will impact both Russia’s domestic situation and its foreign policy options in the medium and long term. Islam’s growing importance in Russia will shape the future of the country in at least five main directions: the overall demographic balance of the country; the strategy of ‘normalizing’ the regions of the North Caucasus; Russia’s migration policy; Russia’s positioning on the international scene; and the transformation of Russian national identity.

Russia's economy was tanking even before the sanctions.

Oil broke above $65 dollars this morning and Russia is running a budget surplus...you literally don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Oh if *only* the money actually trickled toward the population. If only Putin had spent his quarter of a century in power diversifying the economy and weaning it off of Saudi-style oil dependence. If only the money didn’t just go straight into globalist Western bank accounts of Putin’s oligarchs. (A few who identify as Muslim and hail from places like Uzbekistan by the way.)

Then there wouldn’t be such a brain drain as reported today:

“Each year, an estimated 100,000 Russians emigrate to developed countries, around 40% of whom have a higher education, RANEPA reported on Tuesday.”

Are you Danish or German?

Do you realize that Russian economy structure is almost a copycut from the US? Mineral extraction makes similar share of both countries’ economies under 15%. The reason why Russian energy sector looks huge is because it is mostly non-export economy and a few things making way to foreign markets are oil and gas. With current trade balance vs China no American should point finger at Russia about it. At least they have energy export surplus. US doesn’t have any.

The same about income inequality. There is a Gini index to measure it. Germany and Denmark do have an income equality.
Russia doesn’t, true. But so doesn’t US which actually even has slightly less equality than Russia.

Surprisingly, the charges above are mostly spewed not by German but by US-based media.

For some reason they don’t like the size of Russian extraction sector and hates Russian unequality but can’t see the problem at home.

That reminds Soviet Pravda too much.

There are basically two conclusions: 1) Russia is held by US media to higher standard than own government and society. 2) US media is grotesquely biased on Russia.

This is from Q1 2015 - https://www.statista.com/statistics/482512/russia-population-distribution-by-monthly-per-capita-money-income/

Median monthly income in Russia is $260. No one in America is jealous of that.
