You might call them illegal immigrants. Others like Dreamers. But Dem Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon has come up with a new euphemism: community members.
Interviewed on CNN this morning, Merkley, three times in less than a minute, spoke of community members when referring to people in the country illegally. He bemoaned the fact that more than 100 lose their legal status each day.

They’re not illegals: they’re “community members.” Just ask Dem Sen. Jeff Merkley.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Community Organizers.
OK..”illegal community members.
LOL: good one!
He should have just called them “Future Democrat Voters.”
He should have just called them Future Democrat Voters.
Which is what this is really all about for Democrats.
Sancuary Citizens
>> OK..illegal community members.
[insert sounds of compressed laughter here]
His new found friends, aka “Community members” should move into his neighborhood, soon thereafter he will definitely have a change of heart once his house get burglarized, his wife or daughter gets assaulted (or worse), his car is stolen, etc. etc, You know, the typical things those newly dumbed “Community Members” seem to do so well.
I like my name better:PARASITES
“...community members”. merkely is a typical LIB lunatic. I bet there are no illegal alien invaders living where he does...in his secured community. It would be karma if illegal alien invaders invader his house. What an anti-American loser. England’s chamberlain has nothing over this fool.
No! They are foreign invaders!
They’re not illegal immigrants; they’re illegal aliens. NOT immigrants. Let’s quit the semantic games.
Posts BUMP! GRRRREAT work watching the dissemblers, scoundrels, and especially “representatives”/ domestic enemies / buffoons floating trial-ballon terminology.
Thanks.
There is an old-fashioned phrase: “doing violence to language”.
Framing one thing as another using euphemism is bad enough, e.g. “undocumented immigrants”.
But using false terms beyond euphemism, as here, is an intellectual mugging and insulting to those reading and listening to this open borders ***hole.
Aliens here illegally are criminals squatting in our cities and towns, not legitimate, contributing members of the community.
Thanks, PG. You know what I always say: it’s my — twisted — pleasure! ;-)
