RUSH: While the Drive-By Media obsesses over Donald Trump every day, the bureaucracy/the administrative state is being dismantled, and it’s not being covered by the Drive-Bys are so focused on Trump hatred. Last night CBS Evening News, Major Garrett spoke with Scott Pruitt, the EPA administrator. And question was, “What’s the philosophy here? Do you want to protect business at the EPA or do you want to protect the environment?”
PRUITT: It’s not… I mean, our focus here should be on stewardship.
GARRETT: There are others who also wonder about those who have come from industry who in leadership position here. Why should the American public be comfortable with someone coming from industry and into this agency?
PRUITT: I don’t buy the paradigm, Major. This paradigm that says, “We have to choose industry over environment or the environment over industry” is the old way of thinking.
RUSH: Bingo! And this is the classic leftist setup. The straw dog that private businesses — corporations — are evil, and they’re destructive, and they want to harm customers and damage the planet. And this guy’s saying, “No, no, no. We don’t look at it either/or. We’re gonna do both. We’re gonna focus on the environment and business because we can,” and they are.
Just shut it down. That’s stewardship.
I watch the CBS news heads reporting from the WH on CBS “This Morning”. They never smile, always a grimace, it pains them to even have to speak about Trump. And when they do, it’s usually non-fact based commentary laced with all kinds of personal jabs and intonation. They really are a pathetic lot.
I think reducing the stranglehold of the EPA could do just as much for the economy, if not more than reducing taxes.
There is no better customer than a dead customer.
This is good, and by all takes it seems Pruitt is doing a great job... as long as what is being done is that the EPA infrastructure is being dismantled so that any Democrat who may come after him will find it near impossible to reconstitute this oppressive agency.
He needs to be the AG and replace Sessions.
I would say just keep it to pollution and a few other things. Probably like keeping a tiger in a small cage. Too many people mis-educated and too many grant given for false conclusions these days.
Great to trim it down to the few advisory, investigatory functions that are needed and remove ALL regulatory powers.
Once that’s done, turn those few remaining functions over to Interior and commerce departments.
