Turkish troops and tanks near the Syrian border are making final plans to attack the US military’s Kurdish partners inside northern Syria as tensions between Ankara and Washington near unprecedented levels.

Ahead of a widely expected incursion, the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, threatened to “destroy all terror nests”, a reference to Kurdish forces that the US has used as proxies in the fight against Islamic State (Isis) and Turkey views as a subversive threat.

Why do the Turks hate the Kurds again, other than they are devolving scum like the PaliSimians?

I do not care about the Kurds. I do not think any American should die for the communist Kurds or that we should spent one dime on them. I damned sure think we need to get out of that sovereign country. Why are we there? GET OUT!!

Exactly - the Kurds the CIA & Pentagon & McCrazy support are ‘reformed’ marxist-lenninists.

No conservative should even think of supporting those bad guys

Turkey has covertly been the main support for ISIS and many of the rest of the witches brew of Sunni jihadi groups in Syria, and the Kurdish-led SDF has been the most effective force at defeating ISIS and their kind in Syria.

Now Turkey is getting ready to attack directly with their regular military. It is not the first time, and likely won’t be the last. Any land that Turkey takes, is just that much more safe haven for terrorists.

The best thing that the US could do, is give the Kurds what they need to defend themselves.

The article speculates that Turkey will soon attack in the area between Afrin and Manbij (where they conducted their Operation Euphrates Shield), and that they will use local militias from the area (many of whom were formerly ISIS fighters), as well as the regular Turkish military.

I watched a video this morning of PKK using manpads to attack an out post and military helicopter inside southern Turkey.

Erdogan may not have any choice but go on the offensive, even if its within limited area.

Agree with those who say the US doesn’t have a dog in this fight.

The attack will be in the extreme eastern nub of Syria and north of the Idib province - far from the dozen or so US bases in northern Syria

The Turks hate the Kurds because the Kurds want their own state and hate the vile Turks in turn. The Kurds, unless you know different from personal experience, are not at all like the Palestinians and are more closely their direct opposite. The Kurds practice: Islam, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Yarsanism, Yazidism, Alevism and Judaism. So do not tar them all with the same brush, please. In fact, it was the Kurds that saved the Yazidi from genocide by ISIS.
