A Madame Tussauds waxwork figure of the US President was paraded outside the future home of American diplomats in Britain in a stunt on Friday morning.
It came after Mr Trump cancelled plans to open the building in Nine Elms, south London...

Whatever their sarcastic or satirical intent, Madame Tussaud's wax figure (above) is YUGELY superior to the ugly mess at Disney's Hall of Presidents in the U.S. (below):

Just look ad the architectural monstrosity behind “him”! No wonder President Trump didn’t want to attend the opening!
What wonder would he have worked with the old Embassy building?
The building doesn’t bother me. But the Disney Trump figure is ricidulous. In view of the Madame Tussaud version, Disney cannot blame the wax medium for its appallingly poor artistry.
The first thought in my head when I saw the Tussaud’s figure was that they should have made the figure for Disney. George Bush was President when I visited Madame Tussaud’s in London in 2006. I wasn’t impressed with the one they did of him, but they’ve done a decent job with President Trump.
Madame Tussaud’s does some incredible work. When my sub pulled into Portsmouth for a week, I went to London for a day and visited the wax museum. In the 80s, they had all the famous people, but they had wax figures of regular people all over the place too (like a cashier in the gift shop). One of them was young woman in slightly punk clothing and makeup standing outside an elevator. I had my picture taken with my arm around her.
When I returned to Connecticut and got the film developed, the wife was looking at my London photos and that one came up. She never did believe that it was a wax model and thought that my four witnesses were lying to cover up even when she saw me standing with Reagan in one photo and Mr T in another (Mr T was standing in line in the snack bar with a tray in his hand).
The figures you couldn’t get within touching distance was the royal family and Adolf Hitler. The Royals had ropes holding us back and Hitler was behind glass with a wire mesh.
I remember the Old Post Office building from childhood. Like many old buildings from before the days of automobile emissions controls, it was covered with black soot. A dark and depressing place, then. I never thought of it as a beautiful building, since by comparison the signature Federal buildings were kept clean, such as the Washington Monument and the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials.
Cool story!
Here is Madame Tussaud's Taylor Swift in San Francisco (she appears in different clothing in other Mme T's locations):
I heard, maybe Rush’s show that (Disney’s) was already made for Hillary and when Trump won they did a few adjustments.
Disney uses in house Imagineers, in this instance the same sculptor created the Hillary and Trump figures at the same time and was perhaps too close to his work making them look similar to each other.
Is it me, or does that figure have a somewhat ‘Churchillian’
look about it? If it was me, I would appreciate the thing and see it as a compliment.
The facial features, skin tone and texture, and even the hair are excellently done. They didn't get the width and color of the necktie precisely right, nor the rich color and quality of his typical suit fabric, but can hardly be expected to invest in a Brioni suit for a wax figure.
I think it's quite flattering and realistic, and I imagine that even if they meant it as a jibe, it will backfire, since many passersby and tourists will want to take selfies with it.
I’ll make the excuse for the person, that perhaps, after having finished Hillary’s figure, they had to get stinking drunk to deal with it, and was still hungover when they did President Trump.
They exaggerated the tie length. He ties his tie low but not that low. And it’s too narrow. And they’re using a skinny four in hand knot but I’ll bet he uses a half Windsor or something with a little more bulk. Would be interesting to look at some pics to see what kind of knot the Trumpster favors.
That was all changed when I went in 2006. That whole area where Hitler and the Royal Family were was all open, and you could take photos with them all.
It was meant to be Hillary jowls and all.
The Tussaud's tie length looks pretty accurate within an inch or so; but because Tussaud's is too narrow, it looks too long by comparison:
And theyre using a skinny four in hand knot but Ill bet he uses a half Windsor or something with a little more bulk.
Here is a photo of the real Trump, and it looks almost as if the Tussaud head was modeled on this photo. But the knot of the necktie is much fuller and laying more securely on the chest, and the wings of the collar much more neatly aligned:
Here's another good shot of his knotting style:
Can somebody tell me why the Brits think this helps their country?
