I agree.

Also note AG Sessions (who gets far more grief than he deserves) pushing enforcement of drug laws. If you get DACA immigrants with marijuana offenses, they don’t get to stay. I believe that is the plan, and it increases the number of people who will have to leave.

We need to make a deal that satisfies a lot of different parties and Trump is positioning himself very well, IMO.

Saying it’s not amnesty is a linguistic third rail. It’s amnesty.

“The wall is one of the pieces, as well as technology and a number of other things that have been laid out by the Department of Homeland Security,” Sanders confirmed.

“The wall is one of the pieces...”

Now, when the wall is mentioned, it is always quickly relegated to being just one aspect of a larger effort.

Well, did anyone ever believe or think that they would or should just build the wall, turn their backs, and walk away?

It’s up to him.

If he alienates his base, he will be the first president removed from office.

We are not interested in Bills of Love and betrayals.

Don’t forget who brought you to the dance, Mr. President, or you will be dancing with yourself.

Totally depends on the details. People want an end to immigration and security that it is stopped.

If that occurs, the large majority won’t care how.

Same with the economy. Large majority wouldn’t care if their paychecks got fatter with tax cuts or tax increases. They look at the result.

I’ve said all along you will see Trump get an incredible deal on this-—better than anyone can imagine, but it will still be a deal, and no one gets everything in a deal.

Lots of concern-troll shark jumping going on lately - seems like Y’all are hoping Trump does betray us (which anyone paying attention knows isn’t happening) because they need something to worry about.....

It has become second nature to me, that Obama is never referred to by name unless I decide I have to.

Instead he is merely "the Usurper".

Mark Levin said yesterday that what states and judges are doing (nullifying federal law) is exactly what the South did which led to the 1st Civil War. I never saw it that way before but he is exactly right!

Anything

that allows

those who entered the USA illegally

to benefit from that

illegal act

is

AMNESTY

and will incentivize

millions more

to come for their amnesty.

STOP

giving prizes to invaders!

Would never survive a court challenge. The "dreamers" would turn around and claim Trump has violated the 14th Amendment
by conferring second-class status on them and the courts would agree.

I hear what you say but I know we already have non-citizens living here as "Green Card" legal residents.

In fact the lottery for a "Green Card" is one of the policies that President Trump wants to change to a merit system.

The parents of the DACA people are rational humans who made a decision to violate U.S. law. More important, over the last year, these same DACA people have called U.S. citizens who oppose their demands as white supremacists, racists, etc. Just based on their verbal attacks we should reject their pleas for relief. See United We Dream policy director, Greisa Martinez, comments https://www.rawstory.com/2017/09/dreamer-slams-trumps-daca-decision-another-sign-of-white-supremacy-taking-over-our-democracy/

Just for the sake of discussion...do foreign nationals (non-citizens) have the right to a redress of their grievances against the U.S. government?

Trump can’t win here now that he is in for the penny. This is his hard test and he played his hand (as far as we know).

Brilliance would rebound for him if he can get democrats to refuse to approve his deal, “shut down” the government and have Trump eliminate completely until Democrats can decide to fall in line. It would be one hell of a rope-a-dope if he could pull it off. As I understand it, DACA expires after a time and has to be renewed or revamped (maybe I misunderstand). If Trump can keep the Democrats disagreeing and refusing for long enough, the problem might take care of itself and the challenge will be pinning the results on the Democrats.

That said, RINOs want the same thing the dems want. So I don’t know how Trump gets around it. Republicans always insist on playing political Russian Roulette with a fully loaded revolver.

A bill of love? Wonder what Kate Steinle and others would think about illegals being embraced with a bill of love?

How many outlaws are contained in the population labeled “Dreamers”?

Does anyone wish to argue that the number is zero, when they were reared in a household that was criminal from their beginnings? Will their victims feel the love?

Would anyone argue that separating out a like number of native born Americans would be crime free?

The dirty and not too little secret is that this torrent of illegal and legal immigration has resulted in the importation of a curse on numerous Americans.

Trump said he would “take the heat” politically for an approach that contradicts the anti-immigration stance that charged his political rise.

Maybe, just maybe, that was a “call to arms” for us.

There is a decent way to handle these DACA people. Blanket citizenship is not it. I personally will trade a solution for kids who grew up here to stay here if they are screened, properly vetted and assimilate. This only if we get real solutions to border, employer enverify and good reforms to prevent more of this from happening. Letting kids who grew up here stay is a fair exchange.

I agree, but how do you judge assimilate? I can't see any court allowing any sort of verification of that...
