Assad regime says air defense system intercepted Israeli missiles-Syrian opposition-affiliated media reports that four Israeli planes carried out attack on Assad regime arms depot through Lebanese airspace

Israel attacked an arms depot of a Syrian army military base near Damascus on Teusday with jets and ground to ground missiles, the Syrian army confirmed. The Syrian army added that their air defense systems prevented three separate strikes, saying that the incident proves Israel's support for anti-regime organizations. The Israeli military declined to comment on the matter.....

Israel has its interests and America has its interests.

Let Israel use its military to do its own business like they did today.

Donald Trump was goaded into lobbing missiles into Syria over some questionable jihadist story about a chemical weapons attack last year.

America should stay out and let Israel deal with its enemies like they traditionally have.

Probably their Russian gifted Pantsir-S1 system. Shame that the Israelis wasted those missiles - maybe next time there will be some counter measure to defeat the system, short of taking it out first.

Not sure I believe someone who claims jets employed "ground to ground" missiles. Now "air to ground" ordnance of some kind, that I would believe. Seriously, if they can't get these small details right, why should we believe them on the bigger things? Either they are complete idiots who don't know what they're talking about, or they are banging this stuff out so fast they aren't bothering to edit/check/verify anything. ... Maybe that isn't an either-or, probably both...

Hence the utility of attacking those systems again and again. The Israeli’s are on par with the US in counter-counter measure warfare. A member of my family worked on the Arrow Missile Program in Israel at one time....

Good. Although its too bad the US lags greatly behind the Russians on jamming.

I believe the Israeli’s shot at surface-to-surface missiles, whether by air-to-surface or internal gun, it does not say.

I think the story as I read it beyond the excerpt is that ground to ground missiles from Golan were used in conjunction with the air attack.

“The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights,
a Britain-based war monitor, said the air strikes
targeted Syrian army and Hezbollah weapon depots.
The strikes sparked “successive explosions and fires,
causing material damage” in the depots,
where land-to-land missiles have been stored
among other weapons, the Observatory said.”

Debka reported this first overnight and says that aircraft and surface to surface missiles were involved according to the Syrian sources.

Ok ok! Then there is no point in believing anything unless I see it in the MSN, right? But then the MSN reported this incident as did just about every other source on the planet. But since it happened in Syria, I refuse to believe any of it - have I got it right now?

When did Debka become more reliable than the US media? And shouldn’t the US media be a little embarassed by this fact?

Yep.
Israel, the only democracy in the mideast is surrounded deep in tyrannical, dictatorial, islamic theocracies. It is the only democracy.EVERY last one of them wants Israel obliterated, just like America. That is just one level.

President Trump should have acted harder and faster in Syria. Same with Iran.

It wasn’t wasted. They can derive data from the interception.

‘Can’ is the operative word there. Maybe they did not, don’t know and anything else is an assumption. So wasted.

Know Assad, Know Refugees

No Assad, No Refugees.

If you like Syrian refugees flooding the West, stick with tacit support of Assad, a nation that helped kill 250 Marines in 1983, that has been designated a terrorist sponsor since 1979. Can the Russian, Syrian, Iranian propaganda.

The Russia backers on FreeRepublic tend to downplay the danger Iran poses in Syria. Israel doesn’t though.
