Oprah Winfrey, as she is wont to do, just gave the most galvanizing, inspiring, and possibly life-saving speech in awards show history. (And, as she has been wont to do lately, just set off a powder keg of speculation about a potential presidential run.)
We had joked on Twitter that the speech was so emotional, a gale force of truth-to-power, that we’d need a week to recover from it. But the truth is that it was packed with such rousing, fist-raising immediacy that the only possible recourse is to take her words as marching orders and leap into action now.

I had long predicted the Dems would run a celebrity. Someone who could inspire the taker class to get off the couch and go to the polls.
As if we didn’t know this has been looming on the horizon for about 20 years.

Yep, it is probably reminiscent of the speech at the democrat convention that catapulted Obama to the forefront. However, Oprah has to explain those pictures of her enthusiastically kissing the pig.

What utter nonsense. This person who has been entertainment industry royalty for all of these years and also very closely connected with ones that very much exploited women (and children and others) for both gratification and profit.
Obummer gave us a mohammedan worldview. Okra will give us a new age world view.
It would be a close contest. Oprah is black, is a female, is an intelligent business woman, is afraid of nobody, and cares about her country.
The Kenyan rose to power from a speech at the Dem convention. Apparently a ‘speech’ qualifies you for the presidency if you are black. That’s some real privilege right there.
