The federal probe into a 2010 land deal orchestrated by former Burlington College president Jane Sanders, wife of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has deepened. VTDigger has confirmed that a grand jury has been empaneled and has taken sworn testimony in the case.
Former Burlington College board member Robin Lloyd says she testified for about an hour on Oct. 26 before a grand jury at the federal courthouse in Burlington.
Paul Van de Graaf, chief of the criminal division for the U.S. attorneys office in Vermont, questioned Lloyd about her role as the development chair of the colleges board of trustees during a period when Sanders was collecting donations and pledges for the purchase of a $10 million city lakefront property.
Lloyd, who is publisher of the progressive website Toward Freedom, kept copious board meeting minutes as the development chair for the college. In the interview with Van de Graaf, Lloyd said he was focused on what I knew about who had been approached for contributions.
I helped provide a timeline of what happened and when in terms of development, Lloyd said. It was general questions about donors, and money coming in.
Jane and Bernie Sanders have vehemently denied any impropriety surrounding the land deal. Lloyds appearance is the first public confirmation that the federal government has empaneled a grand jury, whose principal function is to decide whether to issue a criminal indictment.

Oh....that's right, he's not a Democrat.
Or, out of fear, the jurors will refuse to indict. They don’t want their lives made difficult by the state IRS or powerful Bernie.
Funny how the MSM has NOT been covering this story.....
Liberal criminals with a jury from the liberal state that elected the liberal criminal. “Not guilty.”
The more you dig into Jane....she comes away as a marginally educated person with no real background for the work they hired her to perform. I’d blame the college itself for being stupid enough to hire someone who is probably at the 9th grade level of competence, and I think the jurors will be asking that question after a week of hearing testimony.
Yup.
Just look at the Black Congressional Congress.
A grand jury has been started for Bernie’s wife
Where is the Grand Jury for Hilliary Clinton and her cronies?
Any money he received from Hillary, should have fixed all of this...Unless he used it all for something else?
These fraudsters ripped off my bank.
I want these scammers dressed in orange, doing hard time.
Hopefully Jane can have Hillary and Huma as cell-mates.
Two theories:
Theory #1:
Bernie was selected by H because his extreme Leftist views would make H look moderate, thereby attracting independents. So the Dems needed to launder money to Bernie to fund and own him. So his neophyte wife Jane gets pointed to a college trust investment officer position where she makes a trust purchase of a $10 mil. private property. She transfers $10 mil. of public trust money into a non-reporting entity. She takes her kickback and gets large. Then H/DNC, Leftists contribute to the college trust to make it whole again -or not.
Theory #2:
The Burlington college directors knew the college was headed for bankruptcy and wanted to raid the trust before the creditors. Jane, an outside patsy, was hired to do the deal because she was not familiar with the plotters. Jane and certain directors got PAID and the college goes belly up, creditors get @%@#@$-ed. Their plan was to cash out as much of the trust before the college went under.
I think the Board of Directors just figured a Senator’s wife had the clout to save their college.
Why do fraudsters like the Clintons and Sanders rip off banks?—Because, as Willie Sutton said, it is where the money is!
Except that those defrauded were also liberals from the same small community.
This is the same incompetent jerk whose actions cost the Cathoic diocese of Vermont a $ million dollars they clearly dont have.
CNN has a year long special. “We hate Trump”
There is that. Thanks. Now I can be a tiny bit hopeful.
Why would a director of trust fund investing need clout?
If you were facing bankruptcy would you hire an actor as your financial advisor?
You'll never see the word 'collusion' contained in any article about this crime.
The Democrats have many, many ways to get you tax dollars into their pockets.
