The Treehouse analysis is certainly a possibility, however it omits the fact that the FBI lying, about something, may not be a crime. However Sreele lying to the FBI would be, and that is the specific accusation put forth. Here is the key bullet in the Treehouse twitter feed:
4. Quote #2 NYT: ...”It was not clear why, if a crime is apparent in the F.B.I. reports that were reviewed by the Judiciary Committee, the Justice Department had not moved to charge Mr. Steele already.”...
To me at least, that appears to indicate that Congress feels they have sufficient proof that Steele was lying. And they’re a bit ticked off that the FBI either didn’t notice this yet, or purposefully ignored it, in fact they even based their investigation of the President on it.
And one thing he didn’t point out on the twitter feed.
Why not just say FBI is lying?
By going after Steele they set a trap that the democrats on the committee couldn’t spin. If they wanted to refer FBI agents and DOJ officials for lying to congress the rats would scream it’s political. But faced with the obvious disconnect between Steele’s testimony and the FBI agents...the GOP is saying we need to get the big liar Steele. What can the Democrats do? So no he’s not lying, which would then accuse the deep state by default. So the democrats can’t really protest this move. And now it puts heat on Steele. Hopefully Session wakes up and gets a special prosecutor not tied into this BS to be appointed to look into this. Or he assigns it to a prosecutor that isn’t corrupted.
Session’s doesn’t have to recuse himself from this part...it’s a new crime of lying to congress. But someone needs to wake him up first.
Hope Steele doesn’t end up dead in his luggage or hanging from a bridge.

So they now have Steele, the Fusion GPS Bank Records, the Interview records and other documents including the FISC warrants, Strzok and Paige’s emails.
I suspect they also have interviewed Admiral Rogers and have his testimony that will smoke out all these Rat Bastards...
Someone is going to flip. It always happens. There is no way all these people are willing to risk Prison, Career termination and personal bankruptcy for Either Hillary or Obama.

Not only does Sessions have to recuse himself from this part. This angle of the 2016 election story is PRECISELY why he had to recuse himself in the first place.
Steele's dossier was used to secure a FISA warrant to conduct surveillance against the Trump campaign. Sessions was almost certainly caught up in that surveillance, and since he is likely to be a victim (and therefore maybe even a material witness) in this whole story he has an obvious conflict of interest.
Wake up, folks ... This was the real reason why Sessions recused himself from any investigation about the 2016 campaign.
Hopefully, Steele doesn’t suddenly take to wearing a necklace made from some Polonium-235 that the Russian Secret Service had left over from its prior use.

Good points. All the players are exposed. Rogers is the Trump-card in all of this. That meeting in Trump Tower seems to have been a warning about the deep state.

Not only was there collusion between a U.S. campaign team and a foreign government in the 2016 campaign, but it also involved the senior leadership of the U.S. Justice Department and the U.S. intelligence apparatus.
The whole narrative is now pointing right at the Democrat Party and the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Maybe it had something to do with astronomy: Uranus?
