I thought once the EU Constitution stated that once a member state triggered Article 11 and announced their intent to leave (which the UK has already done), they could not “retract” that and would have to apply for membership from scratch. If you think that the EU is infringing on the soverigenty of the UK now, just see what type of “re-entry” deal they get offered if Tony Blair comes hat-in-hand begging to be let back in...

It’s amazing to me that leftists actually believe there should be continued voting until they get the result they want. Then no more voting for all time. There is no living with people like this.

Perhaps the UK deserves a Mohammedan PM.

Article 50 was triggered by May last March.

Too late, Tony.

That would be Article 50. Article 11 has to do with the “European Citizens’ Initiative”, which is their nod to so-called direct democracy.

Paragraph 5 of Article 50 says the following:
If a State which has withdrawn from the Union asks to rejoin, its request shall be subject to the procedure referred to in Article 49.
Article 49 is a short two-paragraph article that has to do with new members joining the EU.

I presume there is no such EU requirement that Robert’s Rules of Order is to be followed, but shouldn’t at least the spirit of RROO be followed?

Isn’t it true that the motion to Recommit must be made solely by someone that voted FOR the motion (ie, for Brexit)?

Not like that can’t happen, what with their having a Mahometan Mayor of London.

This has been going on for quite a while in the EU. They played this game with Ireland twice, with the Treaties of Nice and Lisbon respectively.

Classic leftism - keep doing recounts or holding multiple votes until you get the result you want.

Tony Blair reveals himself to be a true Establishment elitist.

So much for respecting democracy! I guess democracy is only good when you get the outcome you like.

What a transparent hypocrite...

He must be using California as a blueprint.

Out here they keep putting bad things on the ballot until they pass.

Then you never see them on the ballot again.

And of course, if they lose, they just take it to the Ninth Circuit Court of appeals, where they strike it down if it’s applicable.

He’s feeling “triggered” over that fact still.

I would have preferred a more aggressive approach, namely invoking “clausula rebus sic stantibus” due to the many times the EU itself has violated its own treaties. But May, being a Red Tory, actually has her heart in the EU, which is why she’s hobbling even the treaty-imposed procedures for the EU’s benefit.

I wonder how much Blair is getting paid by his globalist masters and the Muslim lobby to betray his country.

Revealed: The true scale of Tony Blair's global business empire

The files suggest Mr Blair has used identical trips to carry out both private business meetings and talks in his capacity as Quartet Representative to the Middle East – leaving him open to accusations of a potential conflict of interest. . .

Mr Blair secured a £1 million private contract with the World Bank, while simultaneously working with the Bank in his role at Middle East envoy;

He struck lucrative commercial deals with Abu Dhabi while he was also in negotiations with the emirate as Middle East envoy over $45 million (£29 million) funding for the Palestinian Authority. . .

Yeah, right. I’m sure if the vote had turned out the other way, Blair would said they deserved another say then, too. Eh?
