Is this why so many school types are supporting the illegal immigrants? The subsidy the schools get per student? Anyone have the facts / data behind this?
There are entire schools dedicated to educating “migrants” most of them are illegals.
My Ex works in one of these schools.
We want the wall. 10% of the wall gets 10% of the dreamers!! Dont give us the 1.2 billion crap for this illegal alien amnesty for 30 year old aliens. We want ALL THE WALL!!

What galls me is when the leftists claim that illegals pay a boatload of taxes to offset the billions we pour into education, healthcare and welfare. Add in the fact that they commit a whooping 21% of the crimes, I not only want the wall, I want deportation of every friggin law breaker.

I was trying to find information on our local grade school - it is in a decent neighborhood but had a lot of kids from nearby apartment buildings. Has been called the suburban inner-city school.
I couldn’t find info on it, but here in Washington state I found a report that 10% of the kids in K-12 are English as a second language (ESL). I imagine that the majority of those are Latinos.
10 years ago when my kids were at the local school, I bet it was 30% or more of them were Latinos. At that age and time (pre-obama) I had high hopes of my kids growing up with a bunch of other races (whites were almost in the minority in their grade school - mostly Latino and Asian) - they weren’t prejudiced at all and everyone got along.
Junior high changed that, and my kids sadly learned it on their own. And obama only made things worse.
And don’t forget every time the schools want more money for new buildings or more teachers to solve the over-crowding problem.

Ran into an immigration lawyer who was honest about what the real stakes are.
Schools daycare, welfare programs , college and on and on...
Could be a fair amount of ESL students are Asian.
The study linked below says that illegals cost the USA taxpayers $135 Billion a year.
That doesn't include the $26 billion Mexicans suck out of our economy and send back to Mexico every year.
Or the billions that other groups of illegals send back to Central America, Asia, the mid-east, etc.

The demographics in suburban Seattle are sure changing - many more Asians, Indians and muslims. But 10 to 15 years ago it was primarily Latinos.
The huge influx of Chinese into the Seattle area is mostly the very wealthy leaving Canada (and not illegal). Perhaps a poor assumption on my part - but I’m guessing their kids have been given the opportunity and support to learn English.
30+ years ago I tried to help out a Latino mom and daughter with car trouble. The little girl spoke English but the mom didn’t. They refused my help - the little girl said her mom would only trust other Mexicans in their town. I asked he how far that was - she said “50 miles”. (The car wasn’t going to make it.)
Being illegal has consequences - such as limiting yourself to your own kind, not learning the language, etc. Of course Liberals will see that as a reason to make them legal. I see it as a reason to send them home, where they won’t have to fear ICE. And maybe these DREAMERS can dream of turning their own countries into a successful, great place to live.
Plus they get to hire more teachers if they demonstrate the school “must” cater to multiple languages, from what I’ve heard.

Article in today’s Omaha newspaper about one who went through all 4 years of high school in Omaha Public Schools. Then on Sunday night, he was drunk and crashed into a woman who died. She was awaiting the arrival of her 10th grandchild. A tribute article about her was placed next to the article about him, which indicated there is an ICE detainer on him, should he actually make bail, but he’s an illegal, being held now on motor vehicle homicide. Then another article on the same page, about another illegal, who killed another presumably upstanding US citizen, in another traffic accident, here in Nebraska. He also has an ICE detainer.
Nebraska isn’t a sanctuary state, but I would not be surprised if someone told me, as fact, that 20% of our public school students are “dreamers” or at least anchor babies.

NYC has a couple of high schools ONLY for “immigrants” from Hispanic countries who have been in this country for less than 4 years. Now who do you think they mean? ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIENS, of course. Every teacher has to be bilingual. Every text must be (the more expensive) bilingual. And these are in beautiful recently renovated buildings, while YOUR kids have to sit in decrepit old buildings overrun with mice. Virtually every teacher is Spanish-surnamed, ditto guidance counselors, etc. Even the principal’s message is in Spanish, not English. I’ve been there and can report that a lot of their “students” are not interested in an education.
