Boyle was previously married to the sister of Omar Khadr, a Canadian imprisoned for 10 years at the US detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after fighting US troops in Afghanistan.
A senior official said Boyle refused to board an American military plane over concerns he could face arrest. Boyle said his family had been delayed due to a medical emergency surrounding one of his children.

Sounds to me when he and his wife got caught by the duka duka people, he converted into the culture of the duka duka people during his captivity.

He played a sim game that I also play. from my limited conversations with him, he wasn’t right in the head before he went. one of his former clanmates told me he converted to Dirka Dirka well before he went with his pregnant wife to Afghanistan. Not entirely sure as I didn’t know the sod very well.
I am stationed in Afghanistan currently, you got to be not right in the head to take your wife and go hiking here, like Darwin level wrong, so thus you are a good judge of character.

Nope. He was all in on islam before these two got married. Everything that happened to these people was the result of a string of bad decisions.
