I’d rather it be Romney over McMuffin though. Romney was interviewed by Trump for the Secretary of State position when Trump was building his cabinet. I assume he went through an extensive background check, and if there is any incriminating information, Trump already has it. Romney will probably not be outspoken against Trump while in office, although he would probably not vote with him all of the time either.

Slim choices to primary Romney. Jason Chaffetz is the Utah Congressman with the best Conservative Review liberty score and it’s only a “C” at 76%. Anybody know someone from Utah who would be a good choice?
For a guy who has been a business leader and held executive office as a governor, a U.S. Senate role is actually a huge step down.
Conservatives in Utah should really beat the drum early and often that Romney is unacceptable, and encourage other candidates to quickly join in the primary campaign against him.
A strong way to do this is for the other candidates to agree to have a consolidated conservative ticket against Romney. This would amount to having their campaign fundraising going to the same source, so this fund can start to get donations early on from across the US.
At the same time, there should be increasing pressure on the Utah Republican party to *not* support or endorse Romney. Since Romney is wealthy (estimated between $190 and $250 million), the Utah party should be reminded that John McCain effective bought his seat as well, so they should not let this happen to them.
Even the Utah legislature might be lobbied to set a limit on how much of their personal money a candidate might use in the elections. This would severely hobble him.
