(Rand) Paul on Trump’s Pakistan tweet: ‘I couldn’t agree more’

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) praised President Trump on Monday for his tweet calling for an end to aid to Pakistan, telling Trump he "couldn't agree more" with Trump's assertion that the country shelters terrorists on the run from U.S. forces.

In a tweet Monday afternoon, Paul responded to Trump's first tweet of 2018 in which the president sharply criticized Pakistan's government.

"I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been fighting to end aid to Pakistan for years and will again lead the charge in the Senate. Let’s make this happen @realDonaldTrump," Paul tweeted.

Paul's tweet comes after the president accused Pakistan of "15 years" of "lies and deceit," and ripped past U.S. administrations for working with a government that protects terrorists.

“The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools,” he said Monday morning.

“They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!” he added.

This thread needs the big bulldog and little dog meme from Foghorn Leghorn..”yeah boss, what would you like me to do, boss...whatever you say, boss”

Well, I’m old enough to remember the cartoon.

Let’s hope the HRs and senators become the little dogs for Trump, the big dog.

Yes, it’s time to end all foreign aid, official and unofficial. It doesn’t make sense to borrow money from China and then give it to our enemies.

About time one of those in the Senate stepped up to the plate, now lets see if he puts his money where his mouth is.

I don't know. He's still sore and limping from "ringing in" the New Year "South Beach style".

Didn’t the packi slugs jail the doctor who fingered osama bin Ladin? Wonder if the poor guy is still jailed? More than enough reason to cut all aid.

This “Aid” should have been removed the second we found out that Pakistan was helping hide Bin Laden, and in PLAIN SIGHT

Trump speaking the truth to power.

Getting tough on Pakistan (the original sponsor of the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan) was one of the pillars of the new Afghanistan strategy that the Administration developed last year. Looks like they just pulled the trigger on it.

The U.S. military’s own assessment of Russia’s performance in Afghanistan mentioned the absolute necessity of invading Northern Pakistan to have any hope of winning.

30 years later we turn around and do the same stupid plus a few billion.

The doctor who pointed out Bin Laden to us, was left to rot in Porkistan’s jail by Mullah Barry.

I know some people don’t like Rand Paul, mainly because of his father’s history, but Rand is not his father, is actually pretty fair and takes his job as Senator quite seriously ... he wasn’t the one who sabbotaged ObamaCare Repeal last summer, that was McCain ...

52 Rand Pauls in the Senate and Trump could get a lot of things done ... there aren’t that many willing to openly support Trump, give Rand Paul a chance

Those libertarian guys don’t want our money spent in other countries and I agree with the notion of no aid for Pakistan.

I hope its more than a New Year’s Day tweet suggesting the idea.

Rand Paul is 50 times better than KY’s other Senator who is a swamp rat.
Neighbor TN has two swamp rat Senators that wear an R jersey to fool people.
Since Rand Paul first ran for office, it was readily apparent that he was his own man and not that much like his father.
Ron was a bit of a goof, Rand seems serious.
