I’ve learned not to be contemptuous to the spiritual when it appears in modern incarnations like Hayward. It’s easy enough to pooh pooh the “pagan” and hard to be humble enough to see that Christendom has left great vacuums through lukewarm effort in modern days. Something has to fill the vacuums, something that often looks like seekers.

It’s said that nothing succeeds like success, but also nothing fails like success. For it turns into pride when it forgets what it took to get there.

*SIIIIIIIGH* I just turned to mush.

I’m still sick that we missed the Moody’s when they played in Nashville not all that long ago. Just couldn’t afford the tickets at the time.

I had a front row center ticket when I saw them at MTSU in Murfreesboro in ‘78 and paid a whoppin’ $10.
My feet didn’t touch the ground for a week. LOL

I started watching them this afternoon, once people started posting them. Lots of cool fireworks displays and I thought it would be a fun addition to the thread.

I didn’t hear the first “boom” here so I imagine everyone around here decided to stay inside tonight. There are usually a lot of folks shooting them off at midnight on NYE and I go outside to watch.

I’ve been standing at the guest room window watching a terrific display of illegal fireworks. LOL!

Usually I can see some of the higher ones coming from downtown if I stand on the deck. These are WAY too close...probably the neighborhood on the other side of the school.

Lucky you! And lucky them getting to shoot them off! LOL!

I just stepped outside to toss some cans in the trash and BRRRRRR! It hurt! The wind goes right through to the marrow. We aren’t used to this kind of cold so it’s easy to see why everyone stayed inside tonight.

During the 10:00 news, they did a report from downtown Nashville and there was a low turnout for the big bash compared to other years. Still a decent-sized crowd but it’s usually packed.

And when I turned the channel to watch the ball drop at Times Square I noticed a lot of gaps in the crowd there.

This just wasn’t a good time for a lot of folks on NYE. I think you’re warmer than the rest of us. LOL
