Surely even a glitter problem can be vacuumed and mopped away?

See # 7.
Also when I 1st retired I took a janitor job at a local grammar indoctrination center aka school.
K - 6. Sorry but they loved glitter in K and 1,2. There was NO removing it entirely from the Indoor outdoor carpet.
It became an imbedded part of the pile, stuff sucks

Strangely enough, no.

My brother is a management-level civil engineer in a research facility that requires more-than-usual cleanliness.

A couple of years back they had glitter falling off of TWO Christmas cards which had been brought into the facility, and even with state-of-the-art technologies they have not been able to get rid of all of this stuff to this very day.
