My best laugh of the day! I was just trying to picture how riders would handle Vail and Loveland Passes at 700mph inside a Suck-o-Lux..
It’s been discussed in detail in Colorado. It isn’t a Pueblo to Cheyenne express that blows non-stop through Denver.
Public transit, I presume. I could see commuting to Denver for work and taking a bus from the station. Or it could end up like Silicon Valley, with companies offering private shuttles for their workers.
Are Alfred Beach’s Pneumatic Transit and Clegg & Samuda’s Atmospheric Railway proof of concept?
EXACTLY what I was thinking!!
For those who don’t know, it’s an Atlas Shrugged reference. look it up.
I would not want to be trapped way far underground in a crash involving a vehicle traveling at 700 miles an hour.
Everything “new” does not make it “great”.
What will really be the future - air cars, not fixed point-to-point transport.
“Public transit, I presume.”
works fine if the buses go to where you want to go, but 99.99% of destinations are miles from a bus stop, not to mention the hours it would take to make all of the connections, hours that would negate the rapid speeds between cities. We also have REALLY hot weather in the summer and REALLY cold weather in the winter (not to mention snow and blizzards), so any amount of walking outdoors at times can be brutal.
I like it!
