Franken Thanks Supporters, Says He Will Continue to Fight for Progressive Issues

Days before his resignation from the U.S. Senate, Sen. Al Franken thanked family, staff and his constituents for support that allowed him to fight for issues for Minnesotans.
"Serving the people in the U.S. Senate has been the honor of my life," the senator said. "And I'm here tonight to say thank you."
Franken's speech to supporters and friends comes after he resigned earlier this month amid a storm of sexual misconduct allegations. He will officially step down on Tuesday.
During his speech, Franken talked about how thankful he was to be able to grow up in a middle class family in Minnesota.

Tell the truth I’m surprised he did. How many others have been accused and resigned? I haven’t kept tabs but I do wonder about getting accused of something and then losing a job over it.
Not that I’m for Franken. I’m not. Just seems odd to me this whole process.

I still don’t understand why he did resign unless there were more women waiting in the wings or he had already paid some off.

Rather than fight for progressive issues, possibly he could take lesson in 'funny' because even when considered 'funny', he wasn't.
But he is 'funny' in the mental sense. That is 'funny' in the head.
