(Meredith) -- A man who allegedly tried to steal a pickup truck on Christmas day didn't get very far, thanks to a 9-year-old boy.
Police said 32-year-old Ollie Dunn attempted to steal a 2009 Dodge Ram in Kokomo on Monday, according to WTHR.
Little did he know, a 9-year-old boy named Larry Larimore was inside the truck. Despite being afraid, Larrimore pulled out a pellet gun and confronted the suspect.
“As soon as he opened the door, I got scared,” Larimore told WTHR. “So I pulled out the pellet gun and pointed it at his head.”
The suspect took off and hopped inside a Chevy Trailblazer parked nearby.
Officers followed the Trailblazer until it was involved in a minor accident down the road.
He was scared but still acted. Somebody is raising that kid right.
The same somebody that left a child unattended in an unlocked vehicle in Kokomo?

I still have my Crossman CO2 pellet gun from over 40 yrs ago. At first glance it looks like a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver. NICE WORK, YOUNG MAN!

Nope! The kid was intentionally armed with a weapon and stationed inside the truck (as a “guard”) to ward off any attempt that might be made to steal the truck or kidnap him. Love it when a plan comes together.
The kid wasn’t ‘unattended’, he was armed.

Protection of young family members and personal property is why families have parents. It’s not the job of, God bless him, a brave 9 YO child. If I were one of the LEOs involved, I’d be having a few choice words with whonever was transporting Master Larrimore.
Wonder if liberal lawsuits will happen for the kid shooting a guy in self sefense?

At 9, my oldest and the neighbor kid were DRIVING. One steered, the other ran the pedals. Admittedly, in the field, irrigating, but still...
So do not underestimate a 9 year old boy.
