A new emergency decree in Turkey could allow vigilantes to carry out political violence with impunity against opponents of the government suspected of involvement in last years coup attempt, Turkeys main lawyers groups said on Monday.

The CHP (Kemalist) Party had stated they will appeal the decree to the the constitutional court.
Remember in 2018 Erdogan will face another election.
So far he is still blaming this on on those conspirators involved in the (2016) coup.

I think the final piece is in place now -- Turkey is ready to join the EU. Thanks Texas Fossil.

Turkey’s headed for a full blown dictatorship. Elections, rule of law both go away once vigilantes become legal.

"Remember in 2018 Erdogan will face another election." Not after Erdogan declares himself "President for Life."

This time might be different. Many of their enemies are armed.

Oh, he does not hide his Neo Ottoman sentiments. He wants to be the head criminal.
But I don’t think he can pull it off. For a number of reason.

Donald, Turkey needs to be ejected from NATO!! They can now kill Americans, openly!! Or better yet, the US needs to be paid for protection by all countries that want to stand with the US.

The perpetrators of the last Turkish genocides often were the armed Turks, while the government looked the other way.
I don’t expect any new round inside Turkey to be different.

I’m confident that President Trump knows clearly what Turkey is.
Turkey and Iran both freaked when President Trump stated we would move our embassy to Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.
Except for Obama and a few other ComDem administrations the US has always been a good ally of Israel.
Hayim Solomon, a Jewish American so heavily supported the cause of the American Revolution that he was personally bankrupted by it. (he was not alone in that outcome)

Appeal a decree allowing thuggery to reign, and if the thugs don’t scare you off, they’ll go after your lawyer, and if they don’t scare him off, they’ll go after the judges. There is no law, once political violence is sanctioned by the government.
