The Hard Left is shrill because they are not getting their way. Other ideas are being put into place -- and are plainly of benefit.

Leftist politicians, entertainers and journalists may be screaming what conservatives can see are lies, but to them, it is not falsehood, because they have a vastly different view of the truth. They do not believe in objective truth, remember. They are moral relativists ["what is true and good for you is not so for me"] and subjectivists ["our own mental activity is the only unquestionable fact of our experience"].

So they hold that if others believe hard enough, their unworkable ideas will work.

They do not like the idea that if we work hard, are smart and creative, we will have economic success. They consider that to be unjust ["Social Darwinism"]. They are more comfortable with the idea that everything is created by "society" and thus resources should be allocated by social planners in government.

Leftists do not like the idea that armed, law-abiding citizens reduce crime or that a strong military safeguards the peace. Hence, they prefer unilateral disarmament domestically and internationally.

They are not comfortable with criminals, terrorists and aggressive regimes being to blame for harming us. They would rather blame the victim; that makes it so if we heal our sins, the bad people will no longer hate us and mean us harm.

So for the Left, the shrill rhetoric comes from self-deception that comes from an arbitrary vision of Utopia they wish to impose upon us for our own good. We conservatives, by contrast, base our views and value system upon a commitment to learn what is real and good, then act accordingly.

Hence, it is not possible to have a reasoned dialog with Leftists; there is no common point of reference, no agreed-upon sense of reality.

Trump certainly understands what method of communication works with Americans today, and the likes of National Review are aghast. Screaming on both sides. Nobody listening.

But there is a difference. ----------------------------- I know that NR despises Donald J. Trump -- and let us not forget that George F. Will had a similar attitude toward Ronald Reagan back in the day -- but it may be that he was the only one who could have beaten Hillary. My preference was Ted Cruz, but perhaps he lacked the charisma -- and was too much of a politician -- to have been successful in the Presidential election.

America certainly would have been worse-off if the Democrats retained the White House. Four to eight more years of the Party of Jim Crow may have sealed our collective fates, in fact.

Regarding "Survival of the Shrillest," there may be something to that. I noticed a difference between Chef Gordon Ramsay's shows that are made in Europe and those made here. Ramsay does not yell nearly as much in the European versions.

I also noticed on Trump's pre-presidential Celebrity Apprentice shows, if it became clear that some contestants hated each other, it was all-but-guaranteed that they would be put on the same team.

Trump is not the only one to have done market research and determined that Americans seem to have a taste for drama on a personal level.

Hence, Trump utilized this knowledge to great effect in his campaign. He is certainly capable of being measured, diplomatic -- and even stoic. But when he is in front of a camera, he is putting on a performance. It needs to be understood and appreciated as such.

It should also be appreciated that the President is solution/goal-oriented -- and that he loves this country. Quite unlike his opponents.

As Rush Limbaugh astutely observed, Trump's critics take him literally, but not seriously. His supporters take him seriously, but not literally.

He does head-fakes. He starts from the maximum position, then negotiates down to where he likely wanted to be in the first place. Perhaps he and his supporters are not as 'stupid' as his critics think -- or hope.

He certainly is getting positive results. America is safer and more prosperous. There are fewer illegal aliens and Islamic terrorists robbing, raping and slaughtering us.

The only negative consequences are coming from Leftists, RINOs and #NeverTrump conservative elitists who refuse to peaceably abide clearly expressed popular will -- and to put the interests of the American people first.

Some people do the heavy lifting. Others sit back critique whine show exasperation and hyperventilate with histrionics. I give you the irrelevant swamp creature Mr. Will.

Let us recognize and condemn "...the survival of the shrillest." Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer...two professional and politically correct politicians who are champion deceivers.

There is nothing wrong with Ted Cruz. He is a solid conservative and actually an anti-politician. But what type of president we need right now is someone who can easily deflect the crap being shot from the leftists. In that Trump excels. Ted would not be using Twitter, therefore he would not have been able to successfully do a daily crapfest on the media jihad.

This coming from uber-weenie anti-Trumper George Will, whose goal appears to be boring conservatives to death.

He was my first choice until February 2016. I switched to Trump then, not necessarily because of charisma (and not because I hated Cruz), but because he had the strength, the vision, and the capacity to be a far better candidate.

I think that was proved to be a correct observation. The man knew how to fight, he knew how to win, and he's strong enough, and capable enough to push things that matter into reality as President.

And might I say, George Will is a sad, somewhat awkward caricature of a “conservative”. A pathetic #nevertrumper that will never be anything but clueless.

It is good to have someone who knows how to negotiate. Too often the Republicans would take what they want, give away half before even putting it on the floor and then give away half more in the House and another half in the Senate. They would end up with an eighth of what they wanted and the Dems would curse them and threaten to take even that small win away in the courts.

That’s a good point. Too many Gypsy Moth/Mee Too/RINOs are ‘moderates’ — which means they only want to be in the middle of whatever they consider to be ‘extreme’. As if advocating for an extreme of freedom and of slavery are equally as bad.

They fail to appreciate that Leftists are True Believers, so their positions start at the datum in which they are absolutely right and everybody else is absolutely wrong. Hence the Left ‘negotiates’ using the North Korean/Arab Muslim method: “First you give a little bit. Then you give some more. And if you gave just a smidge more, we’d be that much closer.”

And that is why the GOP is often called the Stupid Party. Too many of them do not seem to believe in anything except getting along and not offending their opponents.

For their part, Leftists, North Koreans and Arab/Muslims don’t give a rat’s ass about offending the Infidel.
