Makes perfect sense. Issa and Rohrbacher represent the last great Republican strongholds in CA and also one of the wealthiest in CA. Doubtful they’ll lose their seats over this.

North Carolina?
Lets see a show of hands. Anyone here think RINO Ryan will punish or sanction these Renegade Repubs?
Buehler? Buehler?
They are going to get a do over.
House needs to vote again on sweeping tax bill over procedural snag

None in my district, so cannot vote them out. Hopefully their constituents will. Get rid of Ryan for failing to get them in line, maybe his successor can demote them in their committees, the RBC and others should withhold funds.
I would hate to vote as they did. I don’t know their districts all that well, and I’m not against them running for cover if the head count without them was already solid.
No use putting them in a position to lose their seats.
This may not have been the hill to die on, if the bill was already passing.
I recognize most of these as in districts targeted by the Dems this cycle. My guess is leadership told them they could vote no because they already had a comfortable majority. Takes an issue away from the Rat who will oppose them.
Most, if not all of them represent districts in blue states, so if they are truly representing their constituents, they had to vote no.
They voted no b/c of the $10,000 cap on the deductibility of state and local taxes (SALT). NY, NJ, & CA are high tax states. Don’t know about NC, although the Socialists are marching down the Eastern seaboard, fouling states South & North and turning them into blue cesspools.
The removal of the SALT deductions makes a vote for it nearly impossible for a Rep from NY or CA to vote for and hope to keep their job... of course it won’t likely matter anyway... since that means higher tax bills for most of their constituents.
Walter Jones might have a problem over his vote.
The rest of them are from Rat states.
No big deal. Had plenty of votes to pass without them.
These are what are known as “Losers”.
Well, Issa...we knew that.
Someday enough people will recognize these kind of votes for the political calculation they are, and it will turn around and backfire on the congress critters.
Understandable. A SALT cap of $10,000 won’t cut in in those states, except maybe North Carolina.
Shall we unelect these representatives who refused to support Trump?
Dana Rohrabacher of California
Darrell Issa of California
Walter B. Jones of North Carolina
Frank A. LoBiondo of New Jersey
Christopher H. Smith of New Jersey
Leonard Lance of New Jersey
Rodney Frelinghuysen of New Jersey
Lee Zeldin of New York
Peter King of New York
Dan Donovan of New York
John J. Faso of New York
Elise Stefanik of New York
These appear to be wealthy districts in mostly blue states where the taxpayers get shafted with enormous state and local taxes.
Walter Jones is an oddball
I swear my Rep. Rohrabacher, sent out colored mailers just a few days ago claiming credit for voting for this bill.
I should have kept it. It seems to me he is just another one, trying to have things both ways.
His seat is increasingly vulnerable, because even his historically safe seat has a changed constituency.
