“Snowflakes are perfect” ?
I have photographed thousands of freshly fallen flakes. Complete six pointed symmetries are rare. The photographs of snowflakes you see are highly selective. Its not that the unsymmetrical ones are not pretty, its that people do not expect to see those. The physics of snowflake formation must be really interesting.

How can you tell their shape? It must take years of experience.
