Net Neutrality Is Dead — And Not a Moment Too Soon!
The New American ^ | 14 December 2017 | C. Mitchell Shaw

Net Neutrality is dead. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted 3-2 Thursday to dismantle the scheme. And while its supporters are busily running around like Chicken Little, claiming the sky is falling, the simple truth is that the death of the Obama-era regulation of the Internet is a very good thing.

When the FCC voted on February 26, 2015 to reclassify the Internet as a public utility under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934, then-Chairman Tom Wheeler promised that so-called Net Neutrality would usher in an era of a “free and open” Internet. Never mind that the entire scheme was built on one lie after another. For instance, the first big lie is that the Internet needed government regulations to make it free and open. Here is a tip for those who want to know: government regulations are the opposite of free and open.

To illustrate that, let’s take a moment to remember that the architects and supporters of Net Neutrality promised that there would be no rate regulation (similar enough to Obama’s promises of no premium increases with the misnamed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act). And yet, in April 2016, Wheeler testified before Congress that a bill to keep the FCC from regulating Internet rates would kill Net Neutrality and prevent the commission from enforcing its rules. Because the power to set rates was part of the plan all along, just like with ObamaCare.

Yesterday Trump literally saved the Internet and freedom

1. The Internet grew very well for 20 years without Obama’s and soros’ “net neutrality”
2. Pai the FCC commissioner said in a video while being grilled by liberal rags like politico that a lot of small isps have not been able to expand their network because Obama passed this net neutrality bit of communism in 2015.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrJe6fk_h94
3. Net Neutrality was just one move in a sequence of events to completely take over the internet. A sequence that happened so slowly none of you noticed it happening at all: This lays it all out :

4.Soros funded and is behind this “net neutrality”

We have 3 years left of freedom and America or 7 if Trump wins in 2020. Yesterday Trump literally saved the Internet and freedom which is why communist millenials are having a meltdown (seems like election nite all over again!) .

The left never gives up. We’ve not seen the last of this tyranny.

Yes the left will implement Net Neutrality again if Trump loses in 2020. I’m making my plans to move out of the country if Trump loses in 2020. This is real not hyperbole. See my other post on this thread for the left’s plan with this “net neutrality”

Obama wanted to kill conservative speech.

Hillary was supposed to take over from Obama and finish the job.

Thank God for President Trump!

I would add that this doesn’t go far enough.

In too many cities, the local administration has entered into agreements with a single provider for Internet service.

For instance, when I lived in Lee’s Summit, MO, my option for cable was Time Warner. No other cable providers were allowed to service my area. And DLS wasn’t an option, as I was too far from the CO, and the city wouldn’t allow AT&T to upgrade their lines to U-Verse.

A friend lives in another suburb of KC, and her only option is Comcast. Again, AT&T isn’t an option.

A problem for both of us is we’re limited to terrestrial Internet. Satellite isn’t an option with most VPNs, due to latency.

The feds also need to extend “net-neutrality” all the way to the customer, due to the government mandated monopoly.

Mark

the first big lie is that the Internet needed government regulations to make it free and open.

The first of many, many lies from the Obullshit administration. Eight solid years of lies, distortions, obfuscations, misleadings wrapped up in a tsunami of Gubbermint Bullshit. That’s the sad legacy of that administration.

Ding Dong! The Net-Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch! The Net Neutrality witch.

Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.

Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She’s gone where the goblins go,

Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let’s open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong’ the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.

Let them know
The Net Neutrality Witch is dead!

The problem is that telecom services are a natural monopoly. It makes no economic sense to have competing fiber builds or whatever.

Bingo! When Conservative talk radio carved out a niche and gained listeners, the Left went ape and demanded Leftist views get equal time on Conservative radio and that the Fairness Doctrine have teeth, etc.

Never mind that all tv, movies, papers, etc, were/are solid left from office boy all the up to the owners.
