Not sure the reposting rules from associated press- So I'll just post the link (It's a short article) and summarize- Cuomo is calling for removing firearms from all domestic abuse violators- even minor cases- He claims "Most mass shootings" are done by people with records of abuse against women.

He apparently is talking about sending authorities to 'Immediately remove' guns from their homes, and not allow them to purchase guns in future- Given NY's abuse of the second amendment with their lousy 'safe act' passed in the dead of night without a vote- under the guise of 'imminent need'- I'm afraid they may pass this one too using the same unconstitutional 'imminent need' excuse

Cuomo said most of the worst mass shootings in the nation's history involved gunmen with a record of violence against women or threatening violence against women, including those committed this year at a country music concert in Las Vegas and inside a Texas church.

 

Yes, that shooter at the Texas church had a domestic violence rap.

Temporary prohibition/seizure,in consideration of a pending court case,might be reasonable in some cases.And yes,there are certain people who a rational society would want to be forbidden to have access to firearms for life.

But withdrawing a clearly stated Constitutional right shouldn't be an easy thing...particularly if it's a long term withdrawal.
