Sen. Ron Johnson Is Quite Pleased Roy Moore Lost
Townhall.com ^ | December 13, 2017 | Christine Rousselle

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) did not mince words when asked to comment on Tuesday night's election results in Alabama. When asked what he believed the "message" from last night was, Johnson said that "Alabamians didn't want somebody who dated 14-year-old girls."

He then said that Steve Bannon should learn that the GOP needs better candidates in order to win Senate races before going into an office away from the camera.

NBC News tweeted a video of the exchange.

Watch the video here:

Well, golly. Tell us how you really feel, Johnson, don't hold back!

Johnson has been critical of Roy Moore after nine women came forward to say he behaved inappropriately towards them. In November, Johnson said the allegations were disqualifying and said that if he were elected, he doubted that the Senate would actually seat him. He also said that if he were in Moore's shoes, he would have resigned as a candidate.

Moore was defeated by Democrat Doug Jones by a slim margin. He has refused to concede the race.

Oh sure, that way - voting against Johnson will ensure Dem control of the Senate - good idea ... We just got rid of a rabid Dem in that position, Russ Feingold. Want him back? He’d be glad to take the seat and continue his criminal schemes, should Johnston be primaried. There is no one that could win the election if Johnson is out, other than some Dem mentioned above.

The GOP is destroying itself from the inside-out.

Lets see here (and note my long-running tagline below) - when faced with what you perceive as a vote for a lesser evil - This supposed GOP Senator sees a verified, certified, baby-killing, transgender and homosexual-affirming, Constitution-busting, God-hating Democrat as somehow a lesser evil than Judge Roy Moore who has built a career out of pursuing morality and justice (even if he has taken a lot of flack for it). A man who has had no allegations at all, despite many politically opportune times - and only sees these recent allegations emerge when something as big as the US Senate race comes into play.

But let us assume for a moment that there is SOMETHING to at least a bit of what Moore is accused of (never mind context) - as much as I don’t like it - and would have been hard-pressed to know what to do for sure were I an Alabama voter - this Yankee Senator seems to think that a known quantity of a candidate who stands proudly for everything that is anathema to the official GOP platform is the superior choice and celebrates a GOP loss...???

Can someone please pull his “Republican” card and burn it???

Exactly what qualifications (Conservative-wise) did Brooks offer?

The very GOP establishment that so hates Trump and want him to fail (even if it means the destruction of the “Grand Old Party”, are the very swamp that made Trump attractive to so many voters... They ARE the Swamp that Trump vowed to drain (though he hasn’t really done much as the Swamp apparently runs the show).

Tennesee Conservative, I am also a woman and am in total agreement with you.

Here is something I am hoping—that the war of the sexes that the Democrats have started will turn on them. Every male Democrat is going to be looking over his shoulder at the ambitious women looking to take his place. If you are a white male Democrat forget about it, you are yesterdays news. The revolution always devours its own.

Wink wink. Maybe we could do our part to encourage this to happen.

Brooks endorsed Moore.

Also from what I’ve seen, the 3 candidates, Moore, Brooks and Strange were similar on most issues.

Mo Brooks did come out real strong against Obamacare.

Thing is - the GOP Establishment hated Moore long before these allegations were invented. The Establishment hacks pushed hard for Brooks - and were part of Moore’s political take-down after his primary win. McConnel didn’t care WHO won the office so long as it wasn’t Moore... and this was true from the day Moore filed to run.

The blind leading the blind.. eventually leads to disaster.

The GOP has no one to blame but themselves.. never mind the incessant drumbeats of the media.. willing to sacrifice their own just to take the other guy down.

and then you have those who claim the higher ground.

Nations have been lost over far less.

We live in perilous times.

Barney Frank had a homosexual lover living in his house who was running a male brothel in Franks home that involved under aged boys. He was reelected until he decided to retire. No problem for the Democrats.

Gerry Studds, another Democrat had sex with a 17 year old boy page who was working at the House of Representatives, was caught and censured before the house. When he stood up before Congress he was defiant and arrogant and refused to apologize instead he acted as if HE was the victim. Guess what? Gerry Studds ran again several times until HE was ready to retire. The people of his district kept reelecting them.

Thank-you. I have worked with so many predatory women that use the sexual harassment charge as a way to ‘get their way’ or destroy a man, like a supervisor, that they have a problem with.

Actual sexual harassment absolutely needs to be dealt with but not almost 40 years after the fact with no proof, especially when there is financial gain or other type of compensation for the woman for her complaint. These bogus charges make all women look like idiots and liars.

I was sexually harassed when I was young. Most young women were, especially in the late 60’s and the 70’s. I dealt with it at the time. No, I’m not outgoing and confident but I would not let something like that go.

I’m with you. I hope this latest con backfires on the Dems and the GOPe that are doing the same thing.

Mr. Gov Bean Counter (I’m a corporate bean counter),

Since you are in Alabama what is your take on this election?
There had to be something else about Moore that made half the people that voted Trump to stay home.

I am interested in your opinion. Thanks

We should do a little “divide and conquer” on our own. Don’t you think? At every opportunity we should encourage the Democrat women to go after the Democrat men. What a better way to divide the Democrat party.
