Donald J. Trump‏ Verified account @realDonaldTrump Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!

It’s not that we should start cheating, it’s that we should be staking out and arresting those that do. But we don’t and we won’t as long as we hold to the racist model. They have got us by the b@lls and they don’t intend to let go.

I am too...and I hope for disruption to the point capable men realize that their congressman or president doesn’t determine the outcome of their life. And realize that that their own future is theirs and theirs alone...that is when the world will change for the better

“I blame those Republican, Alabamian voters, who actually chose a pro-abortion, liberal Democrat over a God fearing, staunch conservative.”

Over the years many FReepers from the south have criticized my state — Washington — for its liberalness (with good justification). But the eastern side of the state (where I live) is conservative and had never voted for anyone like this late term abortionist. So who is conservative and who is liberal now?

I often say, my personal happiness isn't dictated by who sits in the White House. Hell, I enjoyed great success in my life while Obama was President. And not a damn bit of it had anything to do with him.

Cheers!

I still don’t know why Trump pulled Sessions from the Senate to run the DOJ. Why would you tinker with a slim margin in the Senate that way?

“sanctimonious” is the word I am using tonight.

They are in abundance.

“It’s not the conservatives who didn’t turn out to vote in Virginia. It was the suburban “moderate” Republicans.” I’ll bet we’ll see the exact same issue in Alabama.”

In my conservative voting district in Virginia, it was almost deserted when I voted ... and that was during the morning rush.

I think many people on our side have incorrectly come to the conclusion that they have no influence and that all sides lie and cheat, so why bother to vote. People like the Rino’s that control the Party, Senate, and Congress reinforce this belief.

“Thank you ..I hope this message spreads and gets to Bannon .. Moore put us all in an impossible position on several levels ..me and half a dozen other FReepers could have easily done a better job at fighting this battle than Moore and his incompetent campaign people ... this was totally a totally preventable loss ...”

Your full of shit. Your right it was preventable, you simply had to disregard unsubstantiated claims by random women ignored for 40 years and countless highly contentious election cycles.

If we are going down this path where men are presumed guilty until proven innocent then we are going to lose every last one of our elections. If they can win this way in Alabama they can and will win this way in every single district and state.

Not one of theses women ever came under oath, not one of them will face legal consequences for their lies, only we the people of the united states face the consequence of allowing ourselfs to be mislead by them.

Mich Is to blame, he wanted this loss and did everything in his power to make it happen.

Learn to drink your coffee from a canteen cup, patriots.

And pray that it's quick so you aren't reduced to some ersatz brew made from acorns and chicory.

Your observation about the low state of morals in our society is spot on.

But I have to disagree with your assertion that “good men are not at risk.”

Do you recall the McMartin or Little Rascals sex abuse cases from the 1980s, among others? People had their lives ruined over crimes that never happened.

This current wave of denunciations usually boils down to one female person’s word against that of one male person — except for the fact that the woman has hired a clever mouthpiece like Gloria Allred.

I’m not going to accept accusations without some supporting evidence. Period.

If women get hit upon by predatory males, they need to learn to say “no,” get the heck out of the way, and never give off signals that they could be available with the right inducements.

That doesn’t mean I condone any female being taken advantage of. But how hard is it to imagine a rejected or ignored female getting back at a co-worker with a false accusation?

Without independent evidence, the credibility of these accusations could be all over the map — anything from true as the Gospel to made up out of whole cloth.

I consider myself a gentleman of the old school. In dealing with women, I always ask “what part of watch your mouth and keep your hands to yourself don’t you understand?”

But in the current overheated culture, I’m not sure that would be sufficient. Thank God I’m retired.

Agreed. Some of my best years were under that pos despite being pissed about the500 k or so I paid in taxes I know that won’t really change enough to change my life, been wealthy, poor, had power and been charged with felonies(unjustly for political purposes ( beat them) and have spent enough time around this planet and country to realize that “voting” for leaders is a joke

Yep. Now Moore goes off to join Angle, Mourdock, Akin, and O'Donnel in the "WTF were we thinking?" hall of losers.

You’re not to bright ... Hell , the NRSC was giving money to Moore until the scandal broke , this wasn’t McConnell ... I wasn’t even talking about the accusations to begin with , but Moore couldn’t even effectively refute them on the Hannity interview .. and yes, I believe some of them were true ... Sessions even knows they are - rumors from small towns in a southern state for many years , come on ...

A decent candidate and campaign could have weathered this storm no matter if the accusations were true or not . The incompetent Moore campaign did everything a campaign would do if they were trying to lose ... the DIMS pounced on it , can you blame them ? It’s hardball politics and our side lost this through incompetence on many levels .
So go ahead and keep cussing and name calling , but it doesn’t change the FACTS ...I’m right, you’re wrong . Doesn’t matter ...

There isn’t always supporting evidence, especially if the crime happened too long ago. I do feel that real, truthful accusations are important even years later. Women deserve to not have to run these gauntlets at work or at the hands of authorities. They deserve to be heard even decades later. Imagine your grandmother telling a story of when she was 17 and the bishop or principal attacked her and told her he’d kill her if she told a soul. It’s still good for her at 80 to finally be heard about that horror.

Of COURSE a woman with any strong sense of self should NOT stand for this kind of treatment, and if she is able she should defend herself, fight back, get out of there, report him, and move on. Depending on the attack. There is a difference between the boss drunkenly flirting at the holiday party, and the boss trapping you behind a desk and masturbating over you. Some of the cruel attacks must not be tolerated. Others can be laughed off. I’m with you there.

If Alabamans didn’t vote for Moore in the Primary, then he wouldn’t have been here. Bannon didn’t pick Moore, voters did.

Seriously, who’s bullet-proof and why? Clinton had DNA evidence and a legacy of abuses against many women and he beat the raps. Moore had nine women with shaky stories and no real proof against him and lost. The big difference: Democrats fight for their candidates in a way the GOPe never will for theirs.

Now that the crisis is over, watch for Franken and Conyers to stay in their seats. This business about resigning will be forgotten and McConnell and Ryan won’t say boo.

No Moore style equivocating. Keep your life clean so no one can come after you. Own your few improprieties and show how you’ve changed. If you are innocent, fight back hard.

And let's be honest. Certain transgressions simply close the door on the dream of elective office. No matter how good a person you are today, that's just the way it is.

There's a reason Ted Nugent doesn't run for Senator. He spent the 1970s doing the same thing Roy Moore was doing, except Ted wasn't asking their moms for permission.
