Governor Goofy Dayton said he will name a replacement tomorrow morning at 10.
At most, he will modify to say that he's not running for re-election (most likely event, imho).
The resign stuff looks ever so much like a Democrat sucker punch.
I raised this question the day he said he intended to resign. That was the strangest resignation I’ve heard. He didn’t apologize and committed to nothing certain. I will be pleasantly surprised if he vacates his seat.

If McConnell were as hardball a player against Democrats as he is against conservatives, he'd call their bluff and call for an expulsion vote for Franken, given that 32 Senate Democrats are on record calling for Franken to step down.
McConnell should make those Democrats eat their words by not backing up their public call with their vote.
But he won't.

No matter if Judge Moore wins or loses.....Franken isn’t going anywhere, and never had any intention of doing so. I was just thinking, even if President Trump stepped down and VP Pence took over, the MSM and democrats would go after him too. No doubt in my mind.

Predictit.org actually is running a bet on whether he’ll still be in office March 31st of next year. Might be fun to watch as the election returns come in. If Moore loses, Franken’s probably gone. If he wins, I don’t know.

If Al Franken resigns, he is a fool. He was never funny until he became a US Senator. Being a Senator is the best gig he will ever get. He should stick it out.
