So-called fact-checking websites have objected to Breitbart News use of the term forgery to describe the yearbook that Roy Moore accuser Beverly Young Nelson and her lawyer, Gloria Allred, have used in attempting to corroborate Nelsons allegation that Moore sexually assaulted her some 40 years ago.
Politifact labeled the claim Pants on Fire, and Facebook has even attached a pop-up warning to a Breitbart article about the alleged forgery.
On Friday, Nelson admitted that she had added notes to an inscription that she claimed Moore made in her high school yearbook. She still claims that Moore signed the yearbook, but admitted that some of the writing was hers.
That is textbook forgery.
Blacks Law Dictionary defines forgery as follows (original emphasis):
forgery, n. 1. The act of fraudulently making a false document or altering a real one to be used as if genuine 2. A false or altered document made to look genuine by someone with the intent to deceive 3. Under the Model Penal Code, the act of fraudulently altering, authenticating, issuing, or transferring a writing without appropriate authorization.
Note that forgery includes altering a real document. It does not matter if part of the document say, the signature is real. If any part of the document is altered and presented as original and authentic, it is a forgery and the entire document is legally useless or worse than useless, since it impeaches the credibility of the person presenting it.

Roy Moore should send Gloria Allred flowers thanking her for his election to the senate.
Hmmmm. Could be.
Politifact is a well known Alt-left site.
When commenting about politifact at news forums or social media, always refer to them as “the Alt-Left site Politifact.”
Employees at the time said that they never saw anyone wearing a suit and tie eating in the restaurant. They said they never saw Roy Moore eating there and a man wearing a suit and tie would have been memorable.
Forgery isn’t forgery when you’re a DemocRAT.
Lying isn’t lying when you’re a DemocRAT.
Rape isn’t rape when you’re a DemocRAT.
Good thinking. On top of that from now on in conversation about the left, I will state “Alt-Left Pro-Nazi Totalitarian Democrats”.
“forgery” is inflammatory?
But calling someone a”child molester” over and over, on the basis of unprovable testimony, is OK?
This is why people have no respect for Big Leftist Media!!
Gloria will go back to her Cryotherapy chamber until they need her again ,LOL
“Politifact” is itself a forgery. If there is anything worse than the usual liberal opinion bias, it is liberal opinion bias attempting to pass itself off as some sort of objective judge of the facts. So-called “fact check” websites are nothing more than another attempt to kill any opinion other the the Left’s.
Even if the original note was written by Roy Moore, I think there are two things worth noting that haven't gotten much discussion:
1. Was this note even written to Beverly Nelson?
2. It's almost certain that the original note was signed by a "Roy," and that everything after the "Roy" (not just the date and location) was added later.
Even in the course of admitting that Beverly Nelson altered the writing in the yearbook after the fact, these dimwits Nelson and Allread are STILL lying.
Gloria All Red should be dis-barred. Corrupt lawyer give corrupt lawyers a worse name...if that's possible.
I think the best analysis here was that the signer was a “Ray” and it was part of a rhyme. Explains why the sentiment ends “I cannot say...” It’s absolutely obvious from color photos that “Moore” was added with the same color pen as the rest she admits adding.
This is just it. Allred originally presented this all as from Roy Moore. Now the Friday before the election date she now says “notes” were added. She should indeed be disbarred. At the very least brought up before the ABA ethics committee.
Well, either that, or he ripped it out of her grasp, and forcibly signed it against her will.
So did Bev add names and dates to other comments and autographs made in her yearbook? So during her and Gloria’s coming out party, Bev mentioned that she just happened to leave her yearbook on the end of the counter in the restaurant. I think it is just a little bit creepy that this woman is still hanging on to a crush she had with an older man forty years ago.
Well, it might have been a "Ray".
The signature is much more an obvious forgery. It mirrors the mother’s divorce decree order signature down to the assistant’s initials.
Allred deserved disbarment, the “victim” deserves jail and financial ruin.
[[If his signature is real, it only proves that a waitress got one of her regulars to sign her yearbook.]]
According to the other waitresses- he wasn’t a regular, and they couldn’t even remember him coming into the shop- I find this more credible because if a DA were to visit a shop regularly, everyone in there would know him and being that he was a DA- He woulds held some clout and been a source of pride for the shop being that he was semi important-
The thing that makes that a problem is that, most of the time, Allred merely holds press conferences.
She is not representing Nelson in a case in a court. Perhaps she does litigate some cases, and when she is representing a client in a case, she is subject to the rules of that court and has obligations and duties.
But, just sitting at a conference table handing tissues to the aggrieved sobbing victim and making remarks to the press is not something that the courts have any jurisdiction over. The Bar may have an interest in this to the extent that there are general rules that prohibit activities that bring disrepute on the profession (and she has that down like no one else.) Most often she is waging war by public relations, not actually litigating. So, she can lie through her teeth and there really isnt any framework of authority governing her conduct at these press conferences. Put those same claims in a pleading filed with a court, and that is a different matter. What she is doing in the events she is famous for is publicity, not the practice of law.
None of these women would bring actual litigation because a defense of statute of limitations would apply. And properly so.
I thought that press conference with Nelson was in NYC.
Allred is admitted in CA, NY and DC.
