What's interesting about the yearbook inscription is that it isn't addressed to anyone in particular.

Even if the original note was written by Roy Moore, I think there are two things worth noting that haven't gotten much discussion:

1. Was this note even written to Beverly Nelson?

2. It's almost certain that the original note was signed by a "Roy," and that everything after the "Roy" (not just the date and location) was added later.

Even in the course of admitting that Beverly Nelson altered the writing in the yearbook after the fact, these dimwits Nelson and Allread are STILL lying.

I think the best analysis here was that the signer was a “Ray” and it was part of a rhyme. Explains why the sentiment ends “I cannot say...” It’s absolutely obvious from color photos that “Moore” was added with the same color pen as the rest she admits adding.
