...The Genovese case - one of the strongest examples of fake news...

Back in 1968, I watched The Detatched Americans (1964), a documentary about the Kitty Genovese case that blamed the inaction of the bystanders on the detachment and conformity that permeated American society. The film included a music video or the song "Little Boxes". Even at the time, I suspected that this story was fake news, and one of my classmates said that "Little Boxes" sounded like Communist propaganda. I found out much later that the song was written by a Communist.

If you want to see the film, it's out there somewhere in the Internet, but it's no longer on Youtube.

I am not at all familiar with the Kitty Genovese case. I will do a search on it.

No, I don’t want to see the film which sounds like pure propaganda. That was a left-wing thing going on at the time which, of course, influenced that idiot Abe Rosenthal to write his infamous piece. When Kitty’s brother interviewed Rosenthal and told him how many neighbors called the police, he denied it to the man’s face. He was going to stick with the story that city people don’t care about their neighbors. Oh, well.

Right after I saw the film, my suspicion that it was pure baloney was reinforced when I read about how bystanders in Watts, Calif., at the risk of being hurt or killed, rushed to the aid of a motorist who was being carjacked and prevented the crime.

"I get that women want to serve every bit as much as men.."

Maybe they just think that they do. Combat isn't a "job opportunity". It's about killing people and maybe getting killed doing it. 99% of all women are in no way built to do it - it's hard enough to get young men to do it.

All women provide in a front line unit is a lethal distraction.

"Which makes sense in the middle of the night."

Really? You think that hearing a women shriek for her life can be just ignored because it's late at night?

Maybe in New York.

I had to go back and research....stab a woman...go away..come back...stab and rape her...and steal money....yep, a black ghetto dweller....they were doing it even back then...

OT...but I think a hoax has been perpetuated on the American society....that whites raped slaves and even after emancipation...

I doubt it happened in very large numbers...why would slavers who thought the slaves weren't really human, rape one of them...makes no sense...

but the opposite is absolutely true...black men in obscene outrageous numbers rape white women, to this day..

not all profiling is off the mark..

I got A's all through HS in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Trigonometry. My SAT math score was 679.

I cannot for the life of me figure out the means or method of 7th grade Common Core math.

My son's teacher was told by her supervisor that this was to even up the scores of black and white students, since white students with well-educated mothers and fathers would not have the advantage of being to go to their parents for interpretation or guidance on their Math homework, their parents being as frustrated and baffled as the kids.

BTW my brother Jim, an Engineering PhD, had a similar problem with his kids with Common Core math in HS.

And as a lifelong NYer, I’ve seen natives constantly run to help others. Maybe Abe just didn’t know any nice people.

Should we be pushing Common Core at four-year olds? I realize every snowflake is above average, but this seems premature.

What you say is very true.

It is even more revealing when you find out why they are doing it.

And why they have been pushing for psychopaths like Obama and Hillary to be president.

They want to be in charge when satan rises to his lofty position over his own utopia having pushed God completely out.

But they don't realize that God is in charge and likes to frustrate their plans.

In the OT there is a phrase and I wish I could find it, but it says something about God having something hidden in His sleeve.

I pleases me greatly to know that their frustration of today is only the beginning.

My wife and I said, 20 years ago, that if we had school aged kids today we would home school. There is only one reason to send your kids to Public school today: Free day care.

Not ignored. Not HEARD. People are sleeping, you know, and plenty won’t hear that type of thing, especially with all the insulation offered by all the buildings.

When I needed work a few years ago I looked into those online writing factories. That’s what they had the writers doing. Scribbling out $ by the word essays for kids to read and answer questions on.

And I got a much better look at the junk accepted by these warehouses of twaddle when my son went to a public fourth grade. He’d come home with these worksheets with the little comprehension essays on them, poorly written, yes, but more importantly, filled with useless content. Any moral or conclusion was superficial or politically correct. Children should be reading uplifting and high quality essays. Even if they are reading for grammar or simple comprehension, they should be reading from great authors, reading great ideas and thought.

Agreed.

Standardized tests for all K-12 aged kids with great variety of ability allowed and even more for kids who need special ed. Give the $3k or so to the parent for each child. Let the parent spend it on crack but if the kid doesn’t pass the test, they don’t get any $ for the kid. Schools of all kinds and approaches will mushroom up everywhere. Make the amount higher for kids doing very well or showing rapid improvement.

No more govt education.

I am glad that your son’s teacher is willing to tell it like it is. Nothing good about anything schemed under King Barry’s reign. It needs to be scrapped.

Knowing the “consultant” (who is great buddies w/ our superintendent & is a retired superintendent herself) & the obvious emphasis she places on race I have no problem believing what your friend says.

That chills my marrow. Our district is 98% black. There is an academy & a black Catholic school where many parents send their kids. The teacher assistant next to my room sends her daughter to the 99% white academy. She is black & 16 & she loves it there. This parent scrimps to be able to send her daughter there. No common core, no constant testing, no large classes. She said other parents have been incredibly kind to her......offering rides after activities & other help.

You would be absolutely shocked if you came to my primary school & saw the huge numbers of out of control children, obvious mental illness/retardation in both parent (s) & children. Some children act completely feral. It has been down in the 20’s & 30’s & a new girl in my class comes in only a sweater even though we gave her a coat. I have now called DHS 10 times & the social worker & I are on a first name basis. The dysfunction I see on a daily basis is depressing. Combine that w/ children who can’t speak English & parents who can’t be bothered to come to a meeting & you want to throw up your hands.

Last week the receptionist told me that a little boy told her he was so unhappy that the “Donuts with Dad” had to be rescheduled because it was the only time he saw his dad........... (Sorry I went on so long)
