It’s hard for any large private corporation to fire any employee for cause;these companies are the deep pockets for which scumbag lawyers lust.
A company like Morgan Stanley has a large HR department with lots of attorneys, and they probably have a strict multi-step employee disciplinary policy. There’s a good chance Ford has been disciplined previously for similar bad behavior. He was probably on probation, and then the straw which broke the camel’s back was this latest accusation.
I am sure it took Morgan Stanley years to go through the required disciplinary steps and documentation in order to safely terminate Ford for cause.
My guess is MS has a written file on the issue from years ago. At that time, I believe they did not terminate him because he is black and perhaps he makes them money.
I retired from a large electronics company in Texas. I am familiar with the procedures you mention.

It seems like big companies get saddled with Dem no-things,people that have no knowledge about business or creating thing. I’m sure there was someone who thought milking their connections must be worth something but then they just hang there sucking up resources. I wonder if there was a sense of relief when they could finally fire him.
