Top DOJ official demoted amid probe of contacts with Trump dossier firm
Fox News ^ | James Rossen

EXCLUSIVE: A senior Justice Department official was demoted this week amid an ongoing investigation into his contacts with the opposition research firm responsible for the anti-Trump “dossier,” the department confirmed to Fox News.

Until Wednesday morning, Bruce G. Ohr held two titles at DOJ: associate deputy attorney general, a post that placed him four doors down from his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein; and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), a program described by the department as “the centerpiece of the attorney general’s drug strategy.”

Ohr will retain his OCDETF title but has been stripped of his higher post and ousted from his office on the fourth floor of “Main Justice.”

Initially senior department officials could not provide the reason for Ohr’s demotion, but Fox News has learned that evidence collected by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), chaired by Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., indicates that Ohr met during the 2016 campaign with Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the “dossier.”

This is the result of Nunes' "do-nothing" committee.

Nunes, who has instructed HPSCI staff to draft contempt-of-Congress citations against Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray – preparatory to a House vote on whether the citations should be enforced – issued a fresh subpoena on Thursday specifically covering Ohr and his files.

When Sean Hannity posted “Tick Tock” this past weekend, a lot of people here poo-pooed it and said Hannity had nothing.

Yet SO MUCH has actually happened this week and it’s not even FRIDAY yet!!!

I’m going to tip my hat to Sean. He might speak to much, interrupt guests, and seem a little pushy with his commercials for Ruth Chris and his concert tours (does he still do those), but the dude is on OUR side.

Same goes for Rush Limbaugh. Great week to both.

Thanks EVO X. This isn't like Hannity's Tick Tock, this is another alarm going off, watch the Partisan Media Shills hit the snooze button again.
Until Wednesday morning, Bruce G. Ohr [was] associate deputy attorney general... and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF)... will retain his OCDETF title but has been stripped of his higher post and ousted from his office on the fourth floor... evidence collected by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), chaired by Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., indicates that Ohr met during the 2016 campaign with Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the "dossier."
That's the Steele Dossier -- not the Trump dossier, because it's top to bottom with smears -- although the Clinton Foundation/Hillary Campaign 2016/DNC dossier would also be appropriate.

Additionally, House investigators have determined that Ohr met shortly after the election with Glenn Simpson, the founder of Fusion GPS – the opposition research firm that hired Steele to compile the dossier with funds supplied by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Giant story. I have stated before and I see this as more evidence that Mueller may be working to expose these people. Imagine that without Mueller Stortz and this guy skates without notice.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

interesting wewawas

looks like simpson & gps fusion were peddling the dossier script to more than the media.

maybe conspiring with DOJ to stage the next move??

As I mentioned in my initial post, Rush thought the same thing. The article is a little weak, but it does add another name to the likely phony dossier malfeasance

You didn't read the article?

Nunes and the HPSCI found the evidence against Ohr. Mueller had nothing to do with it.

And Mueller hired Strzok, Mueller is not responsible for Stortz being removed.

Sessions big push is for the Leakers. This sure looks like one of them.

The DOJ Inspector General is investigating the leakers, not Sessions.

BTW, the DOJ IG is an Obama appointee. And Sessions is comfortable with that.

Yes. The IG is in charge of finding the leakers. And he’s got a lot of them. His report is coming very soon. Supposedly by end of this month. Leadership then demotes and moves them immediately, while going through administrative or criminal process. Thing is, the FBI has written procedures for everything. For the first time in years, the top dudes are following them. The IG and Wray.

The procedures state what happens and how, when bad deeds in the FBI itself are found. Procedures assume inherent conflict of interest in the FBI investigating itself. Hence the IG. Outside the normal chain of command.

Congress (Nunes et al) uncovers evidence of malfeasense. They fefer specifics to IG. IG opens quiet investigation. IG refers his findings to Wray. Wray follows procedures to crush the assholes. Brings solid case to Rosenstein and Sessions. If they refuse to prosecute, they’ll be fired by Trump. With the backing of the FBI and Congress.

Perfect.

When the IG reports that Comey (etc) didn’t follow written policy and procedures on the Hillary email fake investigation, Wray will reccomend it be reopened.

We will see the report.

“...Demoted?...”

Anytime anybody in government KEEPS his/her grade/pay/benefits it’s definitely NOT a demotion. It’s a reassignment at worst.

The IG was an Obama nomination.
