The NY Slimes was the ONLY outfit to factually provide the results of the 2016 US Elections that I ended up following on Election night while we were in New Zealand. I was shocked by this unexpected professionalism , but thrilled with the EC numbers at the end of the night!

There was a time, long ago, when cities each had a Republican paper and a Democrat paper. They didn’t pretend that they weren’t presenting a point of view. Now we just have Democrat papers claiming to present the One Truth. The old way may have been better.

I moved to NJ from Canada in 1991. My father read the NY Slimes but he was a liberal. I stopped looking at the paper a month after I arrived when I realized that the morning paper had day old sports scores. It was only a few years later that I realized how evil the editorial section of the paper was and I swore they would not get a penny of my money ever agaain. Glad I have avoided the crappy paper since 1992.

A dozen or so years ago I received a free subscription to the NYT. I did not renew when it ran out. I got tired of screaming at a “news”paper.
The only thing I like about the NY Times is the Sunday Crossword. Will Shortz is a brilliant editor.
