Roy Moore’s campaign rallies support with pro-life message against ‘Abortion Jones’

GADSDEN, Ala. — Given the tenor of the campaign in the state, one might think Doug Jones was a doctor performing abortions on young women, not a former prosecutor and now Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate.

But Republicans have been merciless in attacking the man some of them have dubbed “Abortion Jones,” hoping to find reasons to rally a base they fear might stay home on Election Day rather than turn out for embattled Republican nominee Roy Moore.

“I believe the people of Alabama do not understand how important this U.S. Senate race is in the future of the country, but people from outside Alabama do,” former state Sen. Scott Beason said Thursday on his radio talk show.

Good strategy for Moore. Making this about the issues is the best way to go.

Some have said on this forum that Moore has not defined Jones, to Moore’s detriment.

Moore first had to make it clear that he is the same Judge Moore we have known for decades. Jones is feverishly trying to NOT define himself, other than some vague sayings about responsible budgeting and references to his role in the prosecution of 50 year old crimes. As a target, he would necessarily remain wide open, and the best time to do the defining in the very late stages of the campaign. BUT, when you do it, really do it.

This is what Tommy Thompson would NOT do against Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin in 2012, and she cleaned his clock. True, it is hardly to pull off in Wisconsin than in Alabama, but he didn’t even try, perhaps being tired out after a tough primary. Judge Moore is getting ready for a big win, while Doug Jones is unwilling to reflect Alabama’s electorate, dooming him to become the Alabama version of Texas’ Wendy “Abortion Barbie” Davis, loved by elites everywhere except his home state.

Well Moore has the pro-life people, Jones has the Jimmy Kimmel fans. It’s Alabama. I like Moore’s chances.

I caught a portion of one this Jones' assholes political ads on the radio the other day.

To the effect that he loves hunting and shooting, if you saw how may guns he had, you'd be real surprised, he's REAL fiscal conservative, he's very pro-2AD, he has qualms about abortion, etc, etc.

And one very simple question occurred to me:

Mr. Jones...if you are so damned conservative, then why are you running as a dimocrat?

The same question, believe it or not, I asked Mr. Shelby a number of years back, after which he switched parties. Of course, I'm not naive enough to think that MY question changed Mr. Shelby, but I do know quite a few people asked him that, so...

Shelby put words into action.

Jones is simply full of shit and will say anything to get elected.

I will vote Roy Moore come Dec 12th.

Period.

I do not live in Alabama... but, I received this text earlier today. I do not intend to respond.

Hey ######! I’m Jamie, a volunteer with Indivisible Alabama groups. This is critical election where Alabama voters will choose between an extremist and Doug Jones, a lifelong defender of civil rights. Can you commit to voting for Doug Jones on December 12th?

“Heh. He takes a page out of DJT’s playbook.”

Hahaha, I said very close to the same thing a couple weeks ago when Moore took a shot at GOPe, and apparently goaded the #NeverTrumpers here to try to refute it.

“Good to see Trump’s balls have inspired another.
(With no apologies to the NeverTrumpers here who are demanding that Moore step down because of the seriousness of the charges)”

Post #4 here, with dutiful responses by alleged freepers:

Side Bar Information: It has been announced that POTUS Donald J. Trump will hold & attend a MAGA (Make America Great Again) political rally in Pensacola, Florida at the Pensacola Bay Center (The Center has a 10,000 person capacity).

This political rally will be held next Friday, December 8, 2017. Not sure of the time. I think tickets can be obtained through the Trump Campaign web site. I also believe there is no charge for the tickets.

The Center is only fifteen miles from the Alabama state border with Florida. The industrial city of Mobile, Alabama is only 54 minutes away via car drive.

I suspect, this rally, will be heavily attended by both Florida & Alabama voters and supporters of both POTUS, Donald J. Trump & Judge Roy Moore, who is presently running for an open Senate seat in Alabama. The attendance is expected to be overwhelming.

You all should turnout to honor our MAGA, POTUS, Donald J. Trump & help boost, Judge, Roy Moore to victory, on Election Day, Tuesday,December 12, 2017. Do it!!!
