Flynn needs to eat his gun without undue delay.

Some of these crimes were also comitted by the Podestas, and for much longer. Not saying it’s right, but going after a conservative over an offense, regarded as the equivalent of Jaywalking by Hillary’s troops, smacks of selective-prosecution.

Again, nothing wrong with loose talk. That’s not what happened.

The Russians acted upon a request by Flynn, that was contrary to Obama’s UN sanctions, before Trump was sworn in.

It’s all about the timing.

Everyone....I agree with what Flynn did, it was the right thing.....just at the wrong time.

Does Mike Flynn have a brother in Sicily who could be flown to the U.S. at short notice?

No worries, Mikey I.Q. of five

Neither attempts at prosecution went to trial.

That ain’t gonna help Flynn.

Funny how Ted Kennedy ASKED the Russians to intervene to harm Reagan’s re-election...no Logan Act prosecution, or even investigation.

“The Russians acted upon a request by Flynn, that was contrary to Obama’s UN sanctions, before Trump was sworn in.”

How is a request by Flynn that Russia not escalate their response to Obama’s UN sanctions “contrary to Obama’s UN sanctions”?

He doesn’t have enough honor to kill himself.

There is also nothing wrong with preliminary negotiations concerning an issue the upcoming administration will have to be dealing with.

No one violated the Logan Act.

Nikita Khrushchev used everything he had to help Kennedy.

“When you agree with a foreign agent and action is taken, action that is contrary to US policy, you violate the Logan Act.”

No. At least, a lot of lawyers say it doesn’t. Not when EVERY transition team HAS to discuss upcoming policy BEFORE taking office.

CNN’s take back in February:

“Here’s the rub. The 218-year-old Logan Act has almost no track record, and no one has ever been prosecuted under it.
Only once, in 1803, was someone even indicted: a Kentucky farmer who wrote an article advocating for a separate Western nation allied with France. But the Louisiana Purchase later that year made the matter obsolete, the Congressional Research Service reported....

...In addition, the law’s mention of a person acting “without authority of the United States” could be an escape hatch, Vladeck has written.

Flynn wasn’t simply a private citizen; he was an adviser to the President-elect and soon would be given diplomatic powers. Legally speaking, his role may have granted him the “authority” to talk sanctions with Kislyak, Vladeck’s interpretation suggests.”

http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/14/politics/michael-flynn-logan-act/

ABC’s take from teh same time:

” Even hypothetically, legal analyst Holloway said he “could not stand in court and make the argument that that is a private person” because Flynn was an official member of the Trump transition team and national security adviser appointee at the time of his conversations with Kislyak.

Professor Vladeck said, “It’s not clear to me that a member of the transition team like Gen. Flynn is even violating the Logan Act in so far it’s not clear that he’s acting ‘without the authority of the United States.’”

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/explaining-logan-act-dems-mike-flynn-violated/story?id=45481930

“Although Steve has previously suggested that the Logan Act couldn’t be used to prosecute members of the presidential transition team (if it could be used at all, given that it’s been moribund for over 200 years and is, in any event, a content-based restriction on speech), an exchange over e-mail between us about Steve’s prior post led to this Q&A that more fully fleshes out those arguments”:

Agreed, Flynn was doing the right thing.

And Flynn is not charged with violating the Logan Act.

He lied to the FBI.

I see critical thinking is not your strong point. How does asking the Russian not to over react to Obama’s sanctions go against American interests?

Why continue to talk about the Logan Act?

Obviously it’s muddy water, the only two prosecutions never went to trial.

He lied to the FBI.

Yes, and that another person is someone in the Obama administration where he worked. He had privy to lots of illegal stuff before the 2016 campaign. Uranium One? Who knows?

Really? And what has happened to the padesta groups? Nothing, that's what. They will bring charges against Trump of ether violating the logan act or of obstruction for firing colme. The fact that we have congress and sessions and thousands of others in the US government allowing this to happen should be very disturbing to all. The only solution is to start electing non-politicians, and that will take years.

You can’t offer foreign powers, future benefits to them, that are contrary to USA policy or law. No matter how ill advised that USA policy is........ Until you are authorized to do so.

What Flynn did would be just fine if Trump had been sworn in.

However, it is always criminal to lie to the FBI. Stop getting hung up on the substance of Flynn’s negotiations with the Russians, that is not in play here.
