Donald Trump has fired back at Theresa May by saying she should concentrate on 'Radical Islamic Terrorism taking place in the UK' and not his Twitter activity.

The British Prime Minister slammed the president on Wednesday after he retweeted anti-Muslim videos posted by the leader of the far-right group, Britain First. The first clip he shared depicted a 'Muslim migrant' beating up a 'Dutch boy on crutches'.

But Trump overlooked her criticism, and hinted that she should be focusing on potential security threats and radicalization and her doorstep instead.

He wrote: 'Theresa @theresamay, don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!'

Twitter users were also quick to point out that the president had tagged the wrong Theresa in his message. He posted the same message a few moments later with the correct Twitter handle.

The firestorm over Trump's move on social media came during a fierce debate in Britain as to whether he should be invited on a state visit.

Tory Communities Secretary Sajid Javid was the first member of Theresa May’s cabinet to respond to Trump’s retweeting of the Britain First videos.

Mr Javid, who is a Muslim claimed on Twitter that Trump ‘has endorsed the views of a vile, hate-filled racist organisation that hates me and people like me. He is wrong and I refuse to let it go and say nothing’.

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan, who has been a target of Trump on Twitter in the past wrote: ‘Britain First is a vile, hate-fuelled organisation whose views should be condemned, not amplified.’
