Wasn’t it Lauer who saved the Clintons back in 1992 when Bill was collapsing due to the rape allegations, and his interview with Hillary gave her the platform to say it’s a “vast right-wing conspiracy” ?? That line turned his campaign around and made him president.

Believe the “vast right wing conspiracy” remarks were said in 1998, in the wake of the Lewinsky episode. I recall in 1992 Hillary giving the 60 Minutes interview in which she said the equally infamous “Tammy Wynette” remark. Ms. Wynette herself was not at all amused and it apparently took none other than Burt Reynolds to act as mediator, lol.
