I had never heard of the term “Fudds” before. Very appropriate term for them.
Actually, it took a low/intermediate powered rifle. Texas bans the use of 5.56/.223 for deer hunting because it’s *not powerful enough* to humanely kill a deer.
Which is why my “oh, s**t” rifle is in 7.62x51.
The 2nd amendment is not about “need” or hunting. It is a right.

Well snowflake (that is you, and absolutely you have fully earned the moniker) hunting isn’t necessarily “a sport.” Sometimes it is a necessary chore required to keep an agricultural business functional.

Somebody calls me a Fudd will likely have their choice of having their nose broken or a knee in an area that will make them uncomfortable for the next few days or both. My great uncle had a lever action 32-40 rifle that probably would have done serious human carnage in a year like 1920 if it were to have been in the hands of a sick, deranged person.

And when some fool starts telling me that anything more modern than a bolt-action rifle is not a hunting weapon, I tell them those exact words in all seriousness.
When they tell me that my AR-15 is only good for killing people, I reply with, “I sure hope so. That’s what the 2nd Amendment is all about.”
If you like "traditional" long guns but want to ban handguns, "assault" weapons, or "high" capacity magazines....you're a Fudd. If you just like the former but don't want to restrict the latter, you're not.
