Posted on 11/25/2017 3:55:28 AM PST by cotton1706

This will be a weekly post

The senate is not in session this week, so still 13 out of 62 confirmed.

However, Grassley will be moving two blue-slipped nominees through committee this coming week.

The Senate is actually in session. McConnell is using “proforma” sessions to carry on a charade the Senate is working when most members are out of town and not formally working. Officially, the current 115th Senate has been in session since January 3, 2017. To keep the Senate in perpetual session a Senator comes into the chamber two times a week at 11:00 am, the member or members present have a “brief” meeting, and then leave. If the Senate was formally out of session, Trump would be able to make interim appointments.

During Thanksgiving week, while no one was working, the US Senate held a sham pro forma session on Tuesday November 21 and Friday, November 24 at 11:00 am. The official record for the November 24 meeting states: “The Senate met at 11:00:01 a.m. in pro forma session, and adjourned at 11:00:33 a.m. until 4 p.m., on Monday, November 27, 2017.”

More hypocrisy and from the GOP establishment. We the people, and President Trump, are being played. Here’s a link to the Congressional Record for November 24: https://www.congress.gov/congressional-record

I guess on the good side, at least the Senate is prioritizing appellate level judges.

Even so, they really need to dump the 30 hour rule, once and for all. Then we can get this over with really start cleaning house.
