The History of Sex In America, Part 1

"Spotlight on sexual harassment moves victims to break silence"

"Women Drawing the Line"

"The Evolving Concept of Sexual Harassment"

Thousands and thousands of headlines like these appeared in newspapers across the country -- back in 1991. Spare us the self-righteousness, millennials.

Just as every new generation thinks it discovered sex, refusing to wonder how they came kicking and screaming into the world, apparently the new thing is for every generation to think it discovered sexual harassment.

Historical note for my younger readers: George Washington didn't grab women's breasts or force them to watch him masturbate.

There have been tectonic shifts in Americans' attitudes about sex, but the idea of thanking someone by sending him a prostitute with a note in her vagina is of relatively recent vintage. (Hat tip: Hollywood's Robert Evans!) (For Larry David fans, Evans' birth name was Robert Shapera.)

These are the major epochs in American sexual history:

1607-1968: Women in America were treated better than any place else on Earth, at any time in history.

1968-1991: Manson Family values swept the nation, with the rise of the Worst Generation. Left-wing men, from senators to hippies, treated women as subjugated beings and sexual playthings.

The Weathermen forced girls into group sex. The Supreme Court granted constitutional protection to the most vile forms of pornography. Hollywood dumped the Hays Code, and promptly went pedal-to-the-metal on movies showing the bright side of the sexual exploitation of women.

Sen. Teddy Kennedy let a girl drown at Chappaquiddick, after driving with his lights off to avoid detection on the way to a late-night extramarital liaison, and then didn't report the accident for hours, passing houses with their lights on, while he tried to construct an alibi, ending with him asking his cousin to say he was driving.

The New York Times' James Reston's first sentence on Kennedy's killing and cover-up was: "Tragedy has again struck the Kennedy family." Within 11 years Kennedy was running for president to gushing press notices.

1991-the near-present: Sexual degradation of women is still taken utterly unseriously by the left, as sexual harassment is used exclusively as a political weapon against enemies of the state: conservatives, white men, athletes and Haven Monahan, the rakish UVA frat boy who didn't exist, but was still made infamous by Rolling Stone magazine.

The proof comes from two major events from the 1990s: The false sexual harassment charges against Judge Clarence Thomas in 1991 and the true sexual assault charges against President Bill Clinton in 1998.

The whole country knew Anita Hill was not telling the truth when she claimed Thomas had sexually harassed her at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Perry Mason-style, her charges were produced decades after the alleged dirty talk, but right before the U.S. Senate voted on Thomas' nomination to the Supreme Court.

Hill didn't want to go public with her story (for good reason). But she was assured by feminists that she just had to whisper vague allegations to the Senate Judiciary Committee and Thomas would quietly withdraw.

Even the accusations are hard to take seriously in the Age of Weinstein. Hill said Thomas talked about pornography and bragged about his sexual prowess. No touching, no propositioning, no quid pro quo, no grabbing a woman's breasts and taking a photo.

The media did all they could to support Hill, featuring her defenders on all the Sunday shows, but -- and this was the key -- Americans saw the hearings.

Poll after poll showed that the public believed Thomas by staggering margins. Not one person who knew both Hill and Thomas believed Hill. Even wacko feminists and eunuch "feminist" males didn't really believe Hill. As mentioned, they just wanted to block Thomas' nomination in order to save "choice."

In the end, 11 Democrats voted to confirm his nomination.

Feminists lost the battle, but won the war by bothering all of us with their sexual harassment training sessions for the next few decades. Men just don't get it! Women don't lie! Believe the women! (Some women were NOT to be believed: The ones telling pollsters they believed Thomas over Hill, 2 to 1.)

After years of this sex panic, with men being sued for telling their secretaries "you look great in that," feminists finally got themselves a genuine sexual predator with President Bill Clinton.

Feminists defended the predator.

I’ve noticed that whenever a man starts in about what a great supporter of women and feminism he is, you can bet there’s a headline being written with his name in it.

Funny how this became common knowledge during the Age of Clinton.

(Anyone who believes this cr@p about Mr. Jefferson should read The Jeffereson-Hemings Myth.)

Right on, Ann.

The real degradation and damage started with the takeover of textbooks and skools by the Fabians, like John Dewey, who destroyed Classical Education—the only curricula which can create a mind like Tesla (thinking outside the box) and create virtue in man.

With the Court and schools allowing the promotion and legalizing of vice and irrationality in so-called “just” “laws” and textbooks, it was the beginning of the end of the Founders’ “America” and Reason and Truth (God) and that Christian worldview which created our Justice system.

The Courts flipped 2000 years of ethics to promotion of Satanism or paganism, or Mother Gaia rites, etc. The courts removed “reason” from our justice system and destroyed the meaning of words to make “laws” completely irrational and evil which is unconstitutional. It will only create chaos and then tyranny.

They literally banned God/Jesus from everything to wipe out “The Age of Reason”from the ideas in all the children—and force their satanism-—their “right” to kill babies, fornicate, welfare (theft) for people to avoid their Natural duties and have no virtue which is essential for Freedom. Just

Law can never separate Natural Rights from Natural Duties and God—but they did and it is evil and unconstitutional. We need “Just Law” (God) back.

Also, lies about Jefferson is that he is a “hypocrite” for being a slave owner. I saw it in a book for 8 year-old Common Core kids. It is SO evil what the Marxists are doing to the worldview of little children with their psy-ops!!!! Get them out of the communist core which warps all perceptions on ALL literature, math, etc., and will make them ignorant and their foundation will only consists of lies and a godless worldview.

The Jefferson letters and books that I have read state that when Jefferson was a young lawyer he tried to get a Law in the House (colony) which outlawed slavery in the colony of Virginia. But he couldn’t get enough people to pass it. Also, he would have been a felon in Virginia if he had freed his slaves which he inherited because of the evil laws that existed at the time in the colony.

He hated the system of slavery and always thought it should be ended but he couldn’t fight the system by himself.

Jefferson’s ideology was the most perfect of all the Founders-—and that is why he has been particularly targeted by psy-ops-—to associate him with EVIL—so that he will be dismissed as will ALL HIS IDEAS!

Our Constitution is being destroyed and it is because of lies and misinformation and ignorance of generations who have been programmed with lies to control their emotions to make Truth (God) hated and reviled. Without God, there is no Good and Evil-—and we are there when out little children are being being targeted with weaponized curricula and TV/Hollywood—to destroy virtue formation and normalize vice which only creates slaves for the State.

She left out that the left was too gutless to oppose Thomas because he was black. They needed Anita Hill to give them cover for voting “no” on a black man’s confirmation hearing.

Hard to say. Tom might have fathered children by Solly Hemmings but, if so, they genuinely loved each other. During their long time together in Paris, Hemmings could have had herself declared free simply by stepping out of the house and going to the nearest French authorities to have herself so delcared under French law.

The fact that she did not speaks volumes.

Many, many white men fathered children by black slaves. Almost all Americans of African ancestry with bonafide slave ancestry who takes a DNA test will find up to 25% European ancestry markers. Most will be in the mid single digits. Even famous blacks such as Booker T. Washington (before DNA tests were invented) have scattered white documented ancestry, so common was interracial sex back in the day.

Rapes were rare and very much frowned upon by society at the time. Enticements, on the other hand, were very, very common. Solly Hemmings was a product of such a union. So was her mother. Not only was she light skinned but, by all accounts, very attractive. Jefferson was a young widower with young children who needed a nanny.

It isn't difficult to imagine Miss Hemmings seizing an opportunity to entice such a famous and accomplished man. After all, a sexual union could potentially produce children who have an easier time in the world, just as a similar union by her mother had put her in position for a more favorable job assignment. It is even less difficult to imagine a virile young widower resonding to such an enticement. A close boyhood friend of mine who lost his wife to cancer told me that second only to missing her companionship in diffuculty was being starved for the regular physical intimacy which she provided.

While the "Jefferson's brother" theory is not withou merit, the fact is that Jefferson emacipated all her and her children in his will. All chose to live out the remainder of their lives as whites. Not so different than BO chosing to ignore the 50% white part of his ancestry when it was his political advantage to do so.

I do not revere Thomas Jefferson any less for [probably] doing what most men (including myself) would have done under similar circumstances.

Then Cal dept I worked for was pioneer in state service in implementing a sex harassment policy. I recall early 30s. We made a tape showing various scenarios illustrating sexual harassment. I did a clip in which I said I interviewed three women for office manager. One had a degree in business, one had 10 years experience and one could type 115 words per minuet. Which one dod I hire? The one with the big, holding my hands in front of my chest. The video was reviewed by our deputy director who suggested because I ws up and coming, I be edited out of the video. My boss who wa sabot to retire shot the scene.

The focus of harassment was in the work place, no sex jokes, can’t ask a woman out again of she said no already, and no quid promo for sex.

At some point sexual harassment became a social crime and women can use it now to delayer men pigs for asking them out or even innocent touches in close quarters.

If something happened 25 years ago, let it go, unless it was forcible rape or against a child. If it is more than 10 years old, let it go. If you re an adult woman and get harassed you have 10 years to complain. Period. Otherwise STFU

She raises some good points, but covers the weaker ones with her brash verbiage.

I’m just gonna say it: Anita Hill May have told the truth; Justice Thomas, whom I really like, may have engaged in sexual banter with a woman he may have found attractive. MEN DO THIS ALL THE TIME. He did nothing wrong. He didn’t even proposition her. He just made a couple dirty jokes. So what?!? I don’t have a problem with it and I’m glad he is on the Supreme Court.

I love how she calls the 1960s the worst generation. She has a point, as far as women are involved. The Pill was not meant to “liberate women,” it was meant to give men easy, consequence free sex with any woman they fancied. And it did. In the late 1970s, sex with underaged girls was very hip for many men. I’m sure the day after he drugged and raped the 13 year old three ways, Polanski told his male friends, and they all were ok with it, approved heartily. Angelica Huston basically saw him do it, and she was ok with it - her father had been a total perv, so it was normal in those circles. Give the broads a cool term to make them THINK they are on top, “feminism,” but keep um more subjugated than they ever were.

Nice post. I don’t think their relationship had to be that of an enticer and someone falling prey. A man and a woman sometimes become mutually attracted and interested.

1607-1968: Women in America were treated better than any place else on Earth, at any time in history.

All were taught the moral code that it was not right to fornicate before marriage. Men were taught to respect women. Women were taught to respect men. Men wanted to protect women and women wanted to protect themselves. Most women got married between 18 to 21 and welcomed children into their lives. Abortion was evil. What Jane Austen wrote about was true that the most unhappy marriages was to be either married to a cad or a shrew and you wanted to avoid those kind of characters at all costs.

But then we got accosted by the Sexual Revolution which gave us abortion on demand and missing family members, sky-rocketing venerial diseases, a much coarser society and terrorists tumbling in to fill in the gap.

Turns out "Free Love" came with a huge cost.
