The new owner of Vista Ridge Mall has lots of ideas to make the shopping center attractive to families and even for people who don't care about shopping. Odessa businessman John Bushman wants to turn the mall into a community space where people can find some "peace and love" in the Ten Commandments, hear some local musicians perform live and take in a giant wave of a 30-foot-by-60-foot American flag outside. All of Bushman's other businesses — hotels in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico, other shopping centers and a Chickn4U restaurant in Odessa — display the Ten Commandments engraved on 800-lb stone tablets. In Dallas, he owns the MCM Elegante Hotel and Suites on W. Northwest Highway.

Back in 92-94, my wife and I spent a lot of time in Lewisville, TX. There was a lake there and some friends had a nice pontoon boat we would spend some lazy Saturdays on. Very nice place.
OMG! The Ten Commandments and a large flag? This should drive the left just plain nuts.

I would recommend that the mall allow customers to carry, otherwise any anti-Christian nut will target it for another mass shooting.
At a shopping mall? Will they put extra emphasis on the 10th Commandment?
Hope they put a sticky note pointer next to #9.

Huh. I know where I’m Christmas shopping this year and with a whole bunch of kids, I usually spend thousands. I’ll be more than happy to spend it all at Vista Ridge now. Goodbye Amazon this Christmas!
